American Football Positions and Backside- Cut Backside
vrv

Coaching Points
Play design is two fold
1. To get to the outside and take advantage of our TB’s speed.
2. To create vertical seams so that we can take advantage of over pursuing defenders
Oline Frontside- Reach Overtake Rules
O-line Backside- Cut backside Defensive tackle
Playside receivers………GOTTA MAN UP AND GET PHYSICAL HERE!!!!

QB Open at 4 or 8 o’clock and find the running back. Once you have handed off the ball Boot away from the play (Right) and carry out your “Winter”. Get on your horse to handoff the ball. TB is NOT waiting for you.

W Pearl Route
X Wheel route
Y Man block
Z Man block
Fb Motion up to the line and block the Sam linebacker. If he is inside the box then go get him.
TB Line up 7-8 yards from the line of scrimmage (in Pistol) or 2 yards behind the QB and directly behind the guard (in Gun). ONCE THE QB HAS THE BALL open up and aim 5 yards outside the play side tackle. Your read is the last man on the line. If the Tackle has him sealed then stay on your track to the outside, if we don’t have the edge cut it upfield RIGHT AWAY!!!!

Coaching Points
JESUS=CROSS
Play designed to get our X receiver lost in coverage.
Play also allows for us to take a shot if we have a coverage mismatch on the outside

QB Although this is our 30 series so it’s a quick 5 step drop. In any man coverage we are looking for the X receiver as he clears the tackle. In cover three (Cut and Hold) we are looking for the Y receiver who is hooking up in the zone.

LG Slide Pro
C Slide Pro

W Go route. Get inside position and get upfield. Get on your horse as you are an option on this play.
X Drag at 4 yards. If there is a linebacker in your track go underneath him. Make sure that you are going underneath both the FB and Y receiver. You should almost brush by them as you pass them.

It has often been stated in the Nation Football League that offense sells tickets while defense wins championships. That being said most teams implore either some version of the 3-4 schemes or the 4-3 schemes. While both defenses consist of a seven man front (7 players within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage) and used primarily to shut down opposing offenses running games we will examine the two to see which one is overall more effective in our guest to reach the promise land.…

First, it’s not something teams see every week, so preparation is difficult. Second, rather than spreading the field, it tightens it. The linemen play toe-to-toe with no splits and the wingbacks are right off the tight end. But most important, the Double Wing attacks defenses in a unique way.…

Once again, there's a runner on first base when you receive the ground ball. You come up with the ball and throw it to the second baseman who is on second base waiting to receive the ball with his foot on the bag. Once he has received the ball he makes his throw to the first baseman who is stretched out with his foot on the bag trying to make the play before the runner touches first. This is the ¨5-4-3¨…

The first step of becoming a great receiver is mastering the art of releasing off the ball. This is very important because if the receiver cannot get off of the ball the receiver cannot go on to the next steps of being a great receiver. Why? Because if the quarterback sees the receiver having a hard time he has to make his reads and he will overlook the receiver and move on. And if getting held up at the line continues to happen the defense will adjust to that weakness and try…

For instance, the NFL Competition Committee’s implications of the Roughing-the-Passer and Defenseless player rules are prime examples of the tradition changing, and these rules are progressively turning the game soft. Football has always been a sport that emphasizes brutality and toughness, but over the years, the implications of all these rules are starting to change the tradition of the game, and it is progressively making the NFL lose its value. One tradition that has been recently altered is the kickoff line claims sports writer Marc Tracy. The NFL has moved the kickoff line from the thirty to the thirty-five-yard line in order to minimize the number of returns during kickoffs. Kickoff is one of the many valuable traditions in a football game, especially the opening kickoff. It is the commencement of the game. It excites the fans out of their seats because nobody knows what could happen; it is unpredictable. The anticipation is the most exciting part of the opening kickoff; at least it used to be. Nowadays, most kickoffs result in an almost guaranteed touchback due to the modification of the kickoff line from the thirty to the thirty-five-yard line. Tracy also claims, the NFL Competition Committee believes kickoff is arguably the most dangerous play in a football game, which is why they moved the line up, so they can minimize the number of returns (Tracy). Sadly,…

    Essay On Pass Blocking

One of the most important parts of pass blocking is keeping your head out of the block. Keeping your head into a pass block could result in the defensive player whether that is linebacker or defensive lineman jerking you forward or using a move to get off the block. Another skill is keeping a wide base with your knees in slightly because you get all of your power from the inside. Pass blocking also comprises kick sliding. Kick sliding is where you kick your left or right foot back, depending on which side of the ball you are on, and sliding the other foot back, while keeping a wide base. When you are on the right side of the ball you have to kick the right foot back and vice versa. The last step to pass blocking is to keep your hands about two inches away from your chest that way you can punch the opposing side to keep them away from the…

I chose this topic because I really like football. I also really enjoy fantasy football. I wanted to know how to always win in fantasy football. I wanted to know the best way to draft. I think the best way to draft was to draft wide receivers. That is a pretty good strategy for drafting, but I found one that could be better. I already know that drafting wide receivers helps because when I’ve drafted good wide receivers I've made the playoffs twice with one championship in three seasons. The one season I didn't make the playoffs I won the consolation playoffs. One thing I wanted to learn was I wanted to know more about team’s offensive lines. The only offensive line I know is really good…

I argue that this program is what the NFL should focus on instead of trying to change the rules of the game. The “Heads Up” program teaches players and coaches the correct way to tackle and the technique is the same for every tackle. The technique according to USA Football is “as a defender nears the point of contact, he takes a downhill power step toward the ball-carrier, keeping his head and eyes up. With a staggered stance – one foot slightly in front of the other – a deep knee bend while maintaining the 45-degree back angle coils the proper muscles for impact. By throwing “double uppercuts” with his arms tight into the ball-carrier’s body, the tackler releases his hips and grabs at the top of the jersey numbers to drive through the runner” (Frollo). This style of tackling allows the tackler to exert as much force as possible while also keeping the tackler’s head away from contact creating a safer impact for both players upon collision. Dr. Patrick Kersey, USA Football’s medical director and a sports medicine specialist believes that “the sooner a body learns something – whether it is football or any academic or athletic exertion – the better” (Frollo). This represents how Kersey believes that if football players are able to learn the correct and safe way to play football at an early age, they…
