Gunas-
'String' or 'a single thread or strand of a cord or twine'. In more abstract uses, it may mean 'a subdivision, species, kind, quality', or an operational principle or tendency.
In Samkhya philosophy, there are three major Gunas that serve as the fundamental operating principles or 'tendencies' of prakṛti (universal nature) which are called: sattva guṇa, rajas guṇa, and tamas guṇa. The three primary Gunas are generally accepted to be associated with creation (sattva), preservation (rajas), and destruction/transformation (tamas) The entire creation and its process of evolution is carried out by these three major Gunas.
Sattva-
Unchangeable, "that which pervades the universe in all its constancy". It is also interpreted as "absolute truth" or "reality". Passion Activity.
Rajas-
Responsible for motion, energy and preservation, destruction/transformation. Goodness and Purity.
Tamas- Resistance to action, indifference, darkness
Prakriti- Nature, Primal Motive Force
Shruti- Hearing, listening
Shunyata- Emptiness, Void
Skandhas-
Five functions or aspects that constitute the sentient being. Aggregate, mass, heap.
Pramana- Knowledge and Understanding.
Purvapaksa-
Building a deep familiarity with the opponent's point of view before criticizing it Anumana- Inference
Siddhanta- Doctrine, Tradition, a generally accepted school of thought.
Atman- Self, inner-Self. “Soul”
Brahman- Unchanging reality amongst and beyond the world.
Sat-cit-ananda- Being, consciousness, and bliss.
Om- “The sound of the universe”
