3 classes of discrimination – Direct discrimination *when a person treats a group or an individual less favorably when others are in a similar circumstance. Indirect discrimination *policies, benefits or employment rules that are meant for all but put an individual or group at a disadvantage – hair cut – religious views. Positive discrimination *discrimination where by it is done so that it can be seen that a company or institute is taking on EM personnel. Asian male less qualified over a white female who is very qualified. –Ve for white woman +Ve for Asian male. (Rogers et al 2007)
