First of all, cigarette smoking can cause a person to have cancer. It doesn’t have a specific place in the body that it picks to place the cancer. Cancer can be in the mouth, the throat, the lungs, and many other places throughout the body. Lung cancer can be fatal. The more a person sucks in the smoke the more the cancer spreads. It also depends on the individual’s length of smoking habit. A treatment for cancer can be radiation treatments. A person can die if cancer is not treated. They are caused by the closing of bronchi, or airways, and tissue over time. They are the fourth leading cause of death in the United States, as per the American Lung Association (Writer). Bronchitis can cause a person to wheeze, cough, and to have shortness of breath. The coughing is an attempt to rid the body of the secretions that clog the bronchial tubes. With emphysema a person can have shortness of breath due to the destruction of the alveoli of the lungs and the capillary blood vessels inside.
