There is one name given to Jesus through the eyes of the African people that stood out to me the most. This name is Jesus the Healer. I believe that this name has a universal or global meaning even though in our reading “The Quest for the Christ of Africa” by Donald J. Goergen‚ Jesus the healer is only presented in terms of its relevance to the African people. I believe not only is it important to see how this name given to Jesus is of great relevance to the african people but also how it is relevant

In order to effectively communicate this to the audience‚ the first thing the film brilliantly uses is Jesus’ inner monologue. No gospel or historical piece gives insight into the mind of Jesus per se‚ but

During his lifetime Abram never gained possession of any of that land save a small plot where he buried his dead. The apostle describes his astounding faith in these words: “By faith Abraham‚ when he was called to

Now the glasses bear with them these ugly stains‚ the stains of sin and wrongdoing. The dirty glasses had to accept their punishment for becoming dirty‚ and the punishment was being destroyed by a hammer. The hammer is God’s instrument against sinners. As the hammer made its decent on the glass‚ a pan covered the glass and

Matthew is divided into five discourses‚ chapter 18 is the fourth discourse and according to Faith Stewart (2015) its purpose is to set down a guideline for communal living. Stewart says that according to Hagner (Hagner 514) it is about Christian community.
