3.1 Explain The Factors That May Occur In A Nursery Setting

I being a practitioner must be accepting and fair to all children, parents and families that attend the nursery. My setting is open to all types of families, cultures, religions, disabilities and so on. We believe that our nursery is a setting that likes to include everyone as a community. For example, we have children and parents, who are physically disabled, therefore to include this family, have ramps enforced by the front of the nursery and by each and every door in the setting because we believe that everyone should be given the same equal opportunities as others. Just because someone has a physical disability causing them to be in a wheelchair, does not mean they shouldn’t have the same right as everyone else in the sense of attending
the nursery setting. By having ramps by all doors proves to us and the public that we respect that everyone is individual and some people have different abilities compared to others which does not mean they should be discriminated by it. Therefore, by having the ramps put into place, it proves that we take into account those families who have different abilities to others. In short, by having ramps enforced on the premises, includes all families with no restrictions, it promotes equality as it means that everyone can join and attend the nursery with easy access and it supports diversity because as a company we are respecting peoples different abilities and trying our best to support them.
