a. The leaders of the states wanted a strong and fair national government. But they also wanted to protect individual freedoms and prevent the government from abusing its power.
b. They believed they could do this by having three separate branches of government: the executive, the legislative and the judicial.
c. This separation is described in the first three articles, or sections, of the Constitution.

a. Consists of the legislative, executive, and judicial branch.
b. These branches help the United States keep an equal amount of power between the people president, congressmen, etc.
c. Each branch has its own job that has to do.

How does this help the United States?
a. Equal power.
b. Equal rights.
c. They wanted freedom and created this system so no one could have more power than someone else so the government wouldn’t be over thrown.
Transition: This is why we have the 3 branches of government in the Unites States.
Conclusion: This equal of power of the 3 branches help the United States so the government wouldn’t be overthrown and the president deciding what he wants to do without asking permission.
