1. The three dangers in group discussion are information underload and overload, unequal participation, and pressure to conform. Information overload and overload is the first danger of 3, in group discussions. Information underload occurs when a group does not have enough information to work efficiently. This can happen when someone is putting on a bake sale for charity, and then finds out that there was a free concert going on at the same time. Not knowing this, this lead to a massive decrease in goods sold. This could also happen with a group of researchers not doing enough research on a drug. Then finding out that the drug causes heart failure if out have high blood pressure, after they said it was safe. Information overload occurs when …show more content…
Unequal participation is when one person is either not getting their say or are not letting others speak their minds. There is six ways of avoiding this. One is Keeping the group small. By doing this it makes the shyer people more comfortable. Next you can gain the silent members opinion on topics by just asking them. the third one is when a member who doesn’t speak up a lot gives good information than others. Give them some reinforcement by saying good idea or that was a good point. The next one is assign quiet members tasks that make them give you a report on something. This could be as simple as look for misspellings in the thesis. Another one is Use nominal group technique to ensure that everyone is heard. The last one is consider offering communication-friendly areas. Google does this by allowing employees to move furniture around. You can say let’s all meet in the river view lounge and talk about the project. The last danger in group activates is pressure to conform. Pressure to conform is relating to the crowd or group even when you don’t agree with what they are saying to you. The first one can’t really be help we were assign to groups by the teacher. The second one my group could ask more of the not three main speakers (Lucille, Jim, Marco) how we felt about the naming of our app or who got assigned what, or how we want the jobs to be organized. My group needs to reinforce the people who don’t talk a lot more so then we can get their contribution. We need to ask if anyone has any questions on their job or if they need help. The three talkers need to allow the quieter members a chance to speak. My group could also set up a meeting time and place so then we could all work on the project

    In most groups there are people who speak a lot and others who speak rarely, because they feel uncomfortable speaking in front of a group of people or they are just not interested. Groups work best if there is a team leader who can encourage everyone to have a say in turn, rather than trying to speak all at once. Group communication can be used a lot inside a care home such as in; group activities doing arts and crafts where they may sit with each other and it is a time where they can talk with each other about themselves, what they did in their day and also about family members. Another example of group communication in a care home may be during staff meetings or MDT meetings.     There are 5 main techniques of a group facilitation. These techniques are Naming, Silence, Guiding Inclusive Mapping the Conversation and Triangulation. Theses 5 techniques help a group Facilitator guide the group in a successful way to get everyone in the group comfortable participating. The first technique is naming. Naming is a way to recognize dynamic within the group that maybe neutral, positive and negative. When using the naming technique you want to interrupt the moment that is happening and engage the rest of the group. The purpose of the naming technique is to give the whole group a chance to evaluate the interactions and communicate more effectively. Another Technique used for group facilitation is silence. Silence is really important for facilitators and group participants because it allows for reflection on the topic that is being discussed. Silence allows for thoughts to be gathered and gives new people a chance to speak up or for new ideas to be formed. Guiding Inclusive Participation gives everyone a chance to speak. When guiding participation you may ask a certain member that may not participate as often as others their thoughts and feelings about a certain experience. Mapping the conversation allows the facilitators to analyze the patterns of communication by identifying how often a single person speaks as well as how many questions are directed toward a single group member as opposed to the group as a whole. Analyzing the conversation can help a Facilitator redirect the flow of future discussions and can show a Facilitator when guiding inclusive participation may be necessary. The last technique is triangulation prevents group interaction from being dominated by prolonged conversation between one group member and the Facilitator. The part that is distributed is the dividend. The ratio of the actual distribution or dividend, and the total distributable profits, is called dividend payout ratio. How much of its profits should a corporation distribute? There are several considerations that apply in answering this question. Hence, companies have to frame and work on a definitive policy of dividend payout ratio. Of course, no corporate management can afford to stick to a fixed dividend payout ratio year after year – neither is such fixity of dividend payout ratio required or expected. However, management has to broadly decide its policy on its broad attitude towards distribution – liberal dividend payout ratio, or conservative dividend payout ratio, etc. If one were to ask this question in context of debt sources of capital – for example, how much interest should a corporation pay to its bankers, the answer is straight forward. As interest paid is the cost of the borrowing, the lesser the interest a corporation pays, the better it is. Besides, companies do not have choice on paying of interest to lenders – as the rate of interest is contractually fixed. Rate of dividends may be fixed in case of preference shares too. However, in case of equity shares, there is no fixed rate of dividends.
