Hardly can you find someone who truly despise Shinji. His actions may be far from heroic, but he acts pretty much the same way many of us will do given the circumstance, and sometimes even better, as deep inside he still had a strive to live and to love, especially in the Rebuild movies. I hope that I’m not the only one finding himself in his journey to find a place in his world.
About Kaji, I like him because he was an admirable father substitute and exactly what Shinji needed to mature. Sure, Shinji craved unrequited love like Kaworu’s or Rei’s because of his hell of a life, but he had to grow up and face the cruel world anyway, and thus an
