Sir Winston Churchill was born in 1874 into a family of politicians. Lord Randolph Churchill, Winston’s father, was also a well-known figure in politics in the 1870s and 1880s.Winston attended a prep school and didn’t perform at a high level so he decided to head to the military school. After finishing military school, Winston traveled all over the Europe as a soldier and was a writer as well. He published his first book in India on 1898 in which he described all the experiences in the India territory. In 1899, the London post sent him to gather information and write about a war in South Africa, but he was captured by enemy soldiers on arrival. Luckily, he escaped and the news got to Britain which resulted in him being praised in his hometown. In 1900, Churchill returned in England and published five successful books. That same year he entered politics as a Conservative but four years afterward he switched to the Liberal side. On workdays, Churchill contributed to the progressive social reform and helped out in many aspects yet he received a lot criticism from his Conservative co-workers stating he was a “traitor”.
