A Career As A Sports Physical Therapist

My career is a Sports Physical Therapist. A Sports Physical Therapist helps people who have had any kind of physical injury due to sports. I am interested in this career because I really enjoy sports and I would love to help people who need to be rehabilitated from a sports injury. I am also interested in this field because my uncle was an athletic trainer for Valley Gymnastics which influenced my liking for helping athletes with sports injuries. In college my goal is to have fantastic grades and accomplish becoming a certified sports physical therapist. There are many responsibilities and duties of a sports physical therapist. Some duties of a therapist are developing rehabilitation plans and then meeting one on one with the patient and reviewing the techniques to rehabilitate the patient and to make sure the plans for rehabilitation are still on course. Some of the equipment that they use are electrical muscle stimulation to strengthen the patient's muscles, exercise balls, Nordic track machines, exercise bike, isokinetic, ultrasound, and treatment tables are just some general equipment therapist use. The physical demand of this career is to take care of the people and the mental demands are that you must know what to do with all injuries you come into contact to. To become certified you must be licensed by the state you are going to work in and become a graduate from a degree program that's been accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association. There are also legal restrictions when it comes to becoming a physical therapist like having some sort of criminal record.
