A Case Conceptualization Of Sam
The case conceptualization of Sam describes his history of possible OCD personality attributes that were encouraged and may have led to his diagnosis of OCD in the ninth grade. Sam’s need to organize and follow a homework ritual has influenced his homework completion and decrease in academic performance. Sam has developed a transient facial tic that is more prominent during discussions of school work. He has noted he cannot turn in messy homework because ‘neatness is important.’ Sam lacks social interaction and close friendships due to the loss of previous friendships as well as difficulties developing new ones. Sam says he does not have time to devote to his friendships as he spends most of his free time on school work until his parents force

    In the case of Honig v. Doe, it was the first case to reach the Supreme Court dealing with discipline of special education students. This case took place in 1988 after two students from the San Francisco School District with emotional disabilities and aggressive tendencies were threatened with expulsion.
