A Descriptive Essay: A Trip To Panama
We stop at a stop light in a town right outside of Panama, we roll down the windows and you can smell the salty ocean water. We are finally here after twelve long leg cramping, neck hurting, and back wrenching hours in the car. It was all worth it though just thinking about getting your toes in the tan hot sand. Once we were finally in the city and driving down the strip we rolled down the windows and just admired the view of the ocean and all the waves crashing in. I couldn’t wait to get to the condo and be able to go out into the water.
Finally we were there in front of the Aqua where we would be staying at for the next six days. We pulled up in to the parking garage and that then started the long walk back up to the room with all the luggage. That part is always the worst part about

So that night after everybody has gotten settled in everybody comes in to our condo to have a Fourth of July dinner and to watch the fireworks that would be coming off the pier. The night begins and people start walking in ready to eat. The food isn’t quite ready to eat so we all sit on the couch watching tv or sitting up at the table talking. Tired of waiting around bored a few of us start a game of euchre, just the first of many for this trip. We all sit around the table laughing and giving each other a hard time about not making the right play or not winning in general. The mood changes from intense to laughing. it doesn’t stay the same for very long.
Finally after the food is ready and we all sit down and eat it is time for the firework show. All of us kids stand out on the balcony getting pictures to capture this night so we always have the memories. Everybody squeezes on to the balcony so that we can see the fireworks. That show was the best firework show I have ever seen. After they are all done everybody starts filling out of the room and heads back to bed so that we can get a good nights

I never realized how lucky I was to be granted such a stupendous life until I saw the poverty some people live in. Over the summer, I was fortunate enough to be able to take an ephemeral trip to Nassau, Bahamas. It was much different than I imagined it would be. I remember walking around and almost being frighten to leave my parents sides. There were natives on every street corner trying to con their way into you spending money on their fake product; there were people going through the trash looking for food; there were people sitting on the street with all their belongings tied up to their bicycle street. You could just tell this country was nowhere near as advanced as the United States. It was nothing like the pictures and it got me thinking of the gloomy lives these children will have to grow up in and all the opportunities that they don't have available here.…

The line sounded rehearsed, as if he had spoken these words multiple times a day for many years. His glossy brown eyes penetrated my startled blue ones for as long as I let them until I turned away. His dirtied innocent face was one that came straight out of a UNICEF commercial, the sort that caught you off guard during a commercial break of your favorite TV show. Wistful faces of impoverished children flick before your eyes as a concerned voice insists that if you donate your unused pocket change every month, you could support the life of this poor boy.…

I would like to say I know Spanish, after four years of studying in high school and multiple trips to South and Central America, yet it seems every time I leave the States, I find myself in a frantic struggle to process the words I know and figure out the meanings of the ones I do not. Sometimes this simply means missing out on a few insignificant details, other times it can seriously complicate life.…

One of the first instances that I can remember concerning cultural shock, was when I took a Western Caribbean cruise with friends. The reason that this trip was so special too was because I got to spend a whole week with my grandparents, aunts and uncles and most importantly my parents. When we first got we went to are rooms and put are thing down then went right down to the pool. I can still remember the way the pool look and felt because I got cut on one of the tiles in the pool. One there reasons I liked the pool so much is you could just sit there and watch the sun set. Then the next day I went fishing on the beach that was so cool casting out a fishing line and sitting there waiting with family there beaches are so beautiful and nice like the ones you see in TV commercials. I haven’t even got to the best part they have a little cruise called sunset cruise. You rode on a pirate ship and watch people fight and watch the sun go down. I was a lot like the movie call peter pan. This little cruise was so special because in a hurry and I got locked out of my room I forgot to wear shoes so I was without shoes that whole night. There is one restraints that you have to go to when you are there I mean they have unreal food. They have huge tacos filled with anything you want with beans, rice and a side salad. I can taste it now. I also remember the time I went with my grandparents to the beach after the sun went down with one of my uncles. You have experienced nothing until that happened I mean the sand nice and cold between your toes swimming in the ocean you feel so free and wild. That is why cabo San Lucas Mexico is so special to me. I have a lot of good memories there with my…

Imagine starting a race twenty minutes after the other participant, this gives them a head start hence lowering your chances to vanquish your opponents in the race. This example applies to real-life issues like the people born in high and stable economic situations. Their probability to succeed in life is higher than those indigenous from third-world countries. Panama faces this problem and I have no doubt a change can be achieved and I can be the one who does it because everyone deserves the chance to succeed if they try hard. During last year, I had the chance to be elected as coach and teach a group of teenage boys, the fundamentals of soccer; what I did not realize was that this experience was going to change me completely.…

I've got bad news, I'm afraid I won't be able to go to Bahamas with you after all. What a pity! The doctor has just told me I have to stay in bed for the next three days at least. She says I've got severe respiratory tract infection. I've got temperature, a sore throat and a headache that makes me feel as though there's a tight band around my skull. The medicine the doctor gave me tastes like a poison, and I have to take it four times per day. Still, the body is a wonderful thing and I'm sure I'll make a speedy recovery, and the sooner the better! Enjoy your holiday. I've heard that the food there is…

We enjoyed the atlantic ocean, the warm white sand, and the scorching hot sun. We could hear the huge waves crashing into the sandy shore. We could also hear the lively chatter of the people on the beach. The smell of the salty ocean and the banana boat sunscreen overtook the air with mass quantities of the two smells combined. The touch of the hot sand on your feet and the rough seashells on shore. The best part of the day was when me and my brother went kayaking for an hour out into the deep blue sea. It took fifteen long minutes to fight our way over the…
