A Great Learning Experience By Yassin El Tawil
This quarter was another great learning experience. We focussed on properties of triangles, congruency and similarity of triangles, trigonometry and area of polygons. A wide varieties of online tools, poster making and hands on activities were the highlight of this quarter. Students also realized how geometry can be applied in real by cushion cover design project. As in the past, learners were assessed with the help of quiz, project work, test and homework.

Hana:
Hana is very smart and capable learner. Her test and quiz score clearly shows her understanding. However, she needs to be little proactive and get more organized with her work. Completing her work on time and immediately catching up on her missing work would be very fruitful to

He is concern about his grade and he puts effort to perform well in the assessment. However, he needs to make healthy choices and come to class being motivated to learn every single day. Learning should not be limited only near the test schedule. He also needs to realize how his activities in the class is affecting other and his own learning. I hope he will improve this habit and come to class with great attitude of learning.

Hassan:
This quarter has been another good one for Hassan. He knows exactly what works for him and tries hard to uplift his performance. Moreover, his project work and work ethic is very impressive. I would love to see this in the future as well.

Tarek:
Tarek has been doing his level best. Tarek is a capable learner and has has huge potential. However, I would suggest him to be little more patient and not driven by distractions easily. There has been few incidence when he missed class and had to struggle in new concepts. Math is one those subjects in which concepts get built up and each lesson forms a foundation for new concepts. Therefore, I would strongly recommend him to catch up on missing assignment immediately. Nevertheless, he has right work ethic and I hope he will come up with flying colors in the

I have noticed that he is a responsible person and has good leadership quality. He needs to draw attention of people around him. This behaviour is affecting the learning environment in the class. In the beginning of this quarter he missed the school for week. As a result of this he struggled in catching up the lesson. Moreover, failing to get organized himself and not getting fully prepared for assessment affected his grade. However, he tried to pulled his grade by bringing his act together towards the end of the quater. He was able to uplift his grade to some extent but this does not represent his true caliber. I am hoping he will take his studies seriously next quarter and achieve the expected learning

I often see him bullying his friends, pushing them break, hitting them whenever he likes and also annoying them by singing loudly in class. He is quite sensitive when someone scolds him, but he never cries. He communicates well with other students and teachers. Moreover, he enjoys Physical Education (PE) and Dance most, as he gets to be more active and he works finely in group activities. He seems to hate English and this is maybe due to the way Ms K delivers her lessons which may not be able to conducive to his kinaesthetic learning style. The majority of the students in 2C class also seem to have a kinaesthetic style. According to David Glen “Almost certainly, you were told that your instruction should match your students learning styles…Now four psychologists argue that you were told wrong. There is no strong scientific evidence to support the “matching” idea…”…

The student described in the reading exhibits at-risk behaviors. One at-risk behavior is that the student is constantly daydreaming. It has been observed that during lectures and class discussions the student is often unfocused. Instead of paying attention and taking notes or raising his hand and participating, the student stares off into space or out windows. The student is often missing out on valuable information that is discussed during these lessons. Many questions that are gone over during discussions will appear on tests and quizzes. In addition the student is missing out on class participation points due to lack of participation.…

B is a good young man, just needs a little more guidance as to what is acceptable and what is not. If you do not teach it, then they do not know. There needs to be more re-teaching as to what is appropriate and what is not as well as what is expected from him. He needs and is starving for structure and nurturing. Maybe setting up a time to meet with him after school or during his study hall to come up with strategies that will help him be successful in school will benefit him in the long…

When Jonah displays appropriate behavior as a teacher I would make sure Jonah knows I notice by saying words of encouragement and affirmation occasionally. For example if Jonah has stayed in his seat more than usual I would say “Jonah, I like how hard you are working on solving those problems” or simply comment on what Jonah is doing in a way that conveys that I am "here for him" by saying things like "I'm here if you need me" or "I'll always be here to help you”. I think it is imperative that Jonah feels important and seen in a healthy productive way rather for his challenging behavior. As mentioned early I would utilize the token economy and the 5:1 ratio. So when I see Jonah displaying appropriate behavior I would also administer a token…

When he is speaking in class, I believe that he know his English is not the best in the world. First off, I want to speak about Alex. Throughout her entire high school career she worked very hard to maintain her straight A’s. She was valedictorian for our class and received a full-ride scholarship to UCSD. All of this was able to happen because of her strict homework and studying schedule. Her homework policy her first three years in high school weren't ask strict as her first semester of senior year. She never turned in incomplete work nor had any missing assignment's. Whenever there was an assignment given out, she would work on it right away. We were all in the same AP English class. We had our senior presentations and our final exam on the same day as well. She started studying the minute our professor…
