A Humorous Wedding Speech-Best Man
Good evening family and friends, for those of you who are unsure who this tall dark and handsome man standing before you is, I am the Best man, Tyler McCart, and my sidekick Dylan, the other best man. For those of you who know and understand Austin, I’m hoping this will be a joyous speech, if you don’t know Austin well then this could be the longest 5 minutes of your life.

How do you give a speech about a man who comes from humble beginnings, a man who is destined for greatness based merely on intellect, perseverance, and the tenacity to push on where others have never gone before? A man who others view with utmost respect and is just an overall joy to be around? Well enough about me, the main reason why I’m here is to talk about Austin Haden McCart.

I think the speech had a strong overall impact and the speaker successful accomplished the purpose of the speech. The speaker made his speech very memorable and is definitely a speech that holds greart importance and should be heard by everyone. One more thing I learned from the speech I watched that I found to be very effective and interesting was the use of testimonies. I would like to be able to incorporate this type of…

What constitutes a great and memorable speech? Following the recent results of the October 19th federal election in Canada, two major speeches were delivered – Justin Trudeau’s victory speech and Steven Harper’s defeat speech. Just as with President Barack Obama’s 2008 victory speech ("Top 10 Presidential Addresses of All Time"), people with political preference may rank one of the two speeches more highly solely due to the identity of the speaker. Thankfully however, Lifehack provides some invaluable insights on the basic factors of a memorable public address. According to the website, imagery increases the effectiveness of a strong public speech, as does connection with the audience and persuasive, powerful statements. Taking those factors into account will help in evaluating both Trudeau’s and Harper’s speeches with a minimal amount of political bias.…

I am contacting you to inform you of some issues that have I have been concerned with when it comes to Kami and her performance on the JV cheer team. First and foremost, I just want to let you know that it has been a pleasure working with Kami on our team. Kami brings a very energetic and infectious vibe to our team. She has grown tremendously as an individual and as an athlete. However, lately, it is that same energetic and infectious behavior that has become a distraction for the team, especially during our practices. Today, Kami and her team had to run three laps because she was laughing and talking during stunts. As you know as a longtime cheer parent, stunting is a time that has to be taken seriously, otherwise there is the potential for…

Four years ago, I first entered Garth Webb; it seems like it has been just been just yesterday I wheeled into the school—did you guys get taller or is just me? I have thought long and hard about my journey and what I ought to say to you guys and while writing this I realized I still hate public speaking even more so this should be interesting, thanks Mrs. McLeod. I gotta be honest and say that I was pretty nervous about giving a speech; I kept thinking: What if I was like Taylor Swift and someone came up and interrupted like Kanye did back in 2009 but instead they said “Sorry I'm gonna let you finish but someone else…

“Public speech is the most valuable skill you can learn.” That’s the line that seems to start every awards ceremony spiel, every college essay, every application for speech captainship...oh hey, look. But despite the popularity of this idea, I feel there is a distinction to be made between the value of public speaking, and the value of being on the Neuqua Valley Speech Team. Over two years, I’ve learned that being a part of this team is more than just learning how to act, write, or prep a broadcast – it’s about learning how to connect with people, both in rounds and in real life. It is about responsibility and commitment to something greater than yourself. It is about striving to bring out the best in people. It is about discovering who you are through teamwork and collaboration, and I want next year’s novices to understand that. As a captain, I know that I can go beyond simply carrying out tasks and…

I also enjoyed the fact that Randy was himself and included humor instead of keeping his speech just informative and plain. The quirkiness and funny side of him made me connect with him through the computer screen and I was eager to hear more which I feel is important during a speech or a lecture. Randy also did a great job at speed and pauses. I feel that he gave the audience just enough time to take in information and comprehend before moving on to his next topic. One aspect of this speech that I enjoyed the most were Randy’s visual aid items. Everything had meaning and I enjoyed learning about the story behind each item. My favorite was the vest with arrow heads attached to the back which meant that people are always wishing negativity onto you, it’s your…

My fellow student Chris gave a well-organized and coherently structured speech that followed the guidelines imparted to us in our textbooks. The use of vivid connectives and transitional sentences enabled his speech to flow rather smoothly. Overall he was very successful in conveying his message on smartphones to the audience. Like many of my other classmates, the only problems I picked up on were not in content of the oratory but in rapidity and articulacy – two things than can be attributed to presentation-day jitters.…
