A Personal Leadership Analysis
The Caldwell Fellows offers an intense leadership program that will help to develop the potential for someone with leadership qualities, and I have leadership qualities. When I think of leadership, I think of such characteristics as reliability, kindness, knowledge, and a voracious drive for continued learning. With these characteristics, regardless of the situation, a person can motivate others to develop, to progress, and to attain a common goal. People who have the potential for leadership would benefit from learning techniques and getting experience in the field. Leadership development is a way for someone who has the capability of leading to advance and enrich themselves and others.

First, I hope to create many long-lasting friendships within the program and establish a sense of camaraderie between everyone I meet. Through bonding and experiencing the program together, I predict that the other members and I will be transformed into a second family. In addition, I hope that this program will provide me with another level of community service by traveling and serving a multitude of communities around the globe. Since I have attended NC State, I have found that volunteering and helping people at school has enriched me even more as a student. After my first semester at NC State, I volunteered over twenty hours to various clubs and activities while maintaining a rigorous class schedule. I learned how volunteering is a way for me to help those in my community, and I've found that these people help me as well. They allow me to create new experiences and make new friends with people who also have a passion for serving others. The program will help me to gain developed leadership skills, which will help create new opportunities throughout my life. I predict the program will assist me in becoming an experienced leader and develop the necessary qualities to become a great …show more content…
As an exuberant student, I can bring a level of diversity as an active Native American. I can help others comprehend the Native American culture and traditions, and hopefully broaden their understanding of cultures as well. I can also contribute my leadership skills as an athlete and a team player. I have played field hockey for my school and soccer for my local club team. From this experience, I am highly skilled in communicating with people from different backgrounds and working as a team. A third aspect of myself that I can contribute to the program is commitment and dedication. If I am chosen to become a member, you will see my dedication through my attitude and through my hard work ethic. In addition, I will continue to pursue leadership and service opportunities while I am still attending NC State and my future careers. Therefore continuing the legacy and mission of Chancellor John T.

My academic, professional and social skills have increased immensely since I have begun this program. Through this process I have gained a deeper understanding of what this chapter has to offer me. Primarily, a network of men with similar goals and similar backgrounds determined to develop each other. Learning is a lifelong process, and to join this network I would have access to unrivaled mentorship and experience. Furthermore, I would have the opportunity to give the same mentorship back to the newer members of the organization. Lastly,…

Although I can’t answer all the questions about how I’ll do it, I’m certain that I want to make a difference in the world. Barnard’s atmosphere and its joint theater program are the main factors that have influenced me to apply. Academically, Barnard is known for its intimate learning environment. I’ve spent my entire life going from one close-knit group to the next. Whether it was Taekwondo, Dance, Theater, or The Commonwealth Governor’s School, each of those groups were empowering, nurturing, and noble in their own individual ways. Barnard embodies all of those qualities, which is what I find attractive. Also, the joint-program for theater really speaks to me because it’s my personal belief that collaborative endeavors create true art. It’s true art that touches the lives of those who work on it and those who see it.…

    1. When I think of what I can contribute to the university to community, I begin to look at what the university is all about. Florida A M University is all about warmth and acceptance. It’s all about driving students from all walks of life to perform to the best of their capabilities. There all about welcoming African American students and encouraging them to pursue greater heights. My only wish is that I will be given a chance to contribute even in the smallest of way, in helping the university keep its reputation and the prestige it deserves. Doing so is not an impossible task for I believe that simply being myself will be a contribution itself. I honestly believe that I am strong enough to face the multiple challenges that will come along the way as I pursue my…

I have partaken in TI@ti, sophomore year and currently, which is an organization based on increasing leaderships skills and increasing awareness against drugs and alcohol. Last year, I guided peers to make healthier life choices and to take positive risks. I stepped up when my advisors, Ms. Ramirez and Mr. Rosenfeld (at the time) needed presenters for the PTSO meetings, Saturday Academy for 7th and 8th graders, and for 600+ seniors who attended prom last school year. The Saturday Academy was a huge leadership role where I had to advise seventh and eighth graders on what to expect from high school. I volunteer at various locations such as for the 9/11 Day of Service, Jersey Cares Day, and Paterson’s Operation clean up. In all of these services, I did landscaping because I felt as if the…

I asked myself, “what can I do to make an impact on my community?”. That is when I founded my high school’s Red Cross Club. We aimed to push the vision-mission, “to alleviate human suffering through volunteering and donations” to the student body to make a change in our community. I initially started with only three other members, however, we bolstered our ranks by over 20+ members in two weeks. Balancing 7 AP and PreAP classes, such as Biology and US History, proved to be a challenge for management of the club. Keeping up with extracurriculars was not always easy however, I always made time to supervise my club. Being a leader at times was very frustrating, but overall it was a very positive experience. While I did slave for the club, it never felt like work to me because I felt very passionate helping others. The Red Cross Club became my medium for making a positive impression on my environment. Through the cooperation of my school’s class officers and my own members, we did donations like can drives around Thanksgiving to help soften the burden of low income families in inner Houston. In addition, with collaboration with Student Council, we fundraised and donated to sponsor underprivileged children during Christmas. Being a part of this club has made a positive impact on my life to be great. My experiences at the club made me develop a strong work ethic, and useful leadership experience to be used in…

As I develop as a leader, I plan on participating in different activities and events at UNCG. I would like to take advantage of the leadership skills I currently have by reigniting my passion for events I participated in at my high school. I would like to participate in student government, homecoming, dance, and other activities of my interest. Additionally, community service is an important function towards my daily functions. Just as I was involved in my community as well as its surrounding communities, I plan to adopt Greensboro by being hands-on with community improvement, citizen edification, and youth guidance. I would like to be an example to the youth of Greensboro by volunteering to participate in events that target young males. Also, I would like to participate in the upliftment of Greensboro environmentally and socially by partnering with programs that focus on the community and citizens in need located in Greensboro. Humility and compassion are important traits when it comes to executing these contributions and I believe that my character includes those factors. I want to be a leader in this area, not just an attendant. Greensboro’s energy and aspiration metaphorically flows through the city. In recognition of this, I want to be heavily involved in this dynamic community. As stated, this scholarship sets great students…

Spelman College’s motto, A Choice to Change the World, mirrors my goal as a member of this intellectual community. During my first year at this institution, I dedicated myself to several hours of community service. I found that this was a vital part of my intellectual growth as both a student and person within society. This year I volunteered for several nonprofit organizations, however I dedicated most of my time to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Before volunteering for this organization I was not quite sure how I would be able to make a significant difference in my community. However, when I volunteered for this organization, I was able to tremendously help people in Atlanta. Likewise, this experience opened my eyes to the increasing…
