As captain on the varsity cheerleading squad for two years, I have developed leadership qualities and can recognize the needs of others. I have also been involved in my school's choral program as a member of show and varsity choirs. These commitments taught me the importance of time management and dedication by being able to maintain a high GPA, leading to induction into National Honors Society. As a member, I am given the opportunity to serve in my community. Serving others is not a new concept for me. I am involved in my church's youth group, cheerleading, and as a volunteer for a nursing home. I enjoy helping others and the opportunity to serve. I plan to continue my level of school pride at UVU. I needed to help others to become involved in their school. I enjoyed attending games and other activities. This showed me that school pride was more than wearing your school colors. I was a Falcon! People knew who I was and expected me to act a certain way. Later, I was given the leadership role of cheer co captain my junior year and captain my senior year. This allowed me to develop leadership qualities. I not only was responsible for making sure my squad had information about games, but I was a person they could trust. I was the only four year cheer leader on the squad. I had the knowledge of the program and understood what it felt like to be an underclassman.
