In a speech given to try to persuade members of the Public Safety Committee of the Dutchess County Legislature in New York, Aaron Weiss makes a strong case to repeal the Safe Act.…
Mark Gungor’s speech is presented as a dual issue. That is to say, the speaker explains, in such an interesting way, how a difference between men and women’s brain can be made. The register used to express the ideas is really intelligible; therefore it is easy to follow. In addition, public attention is perfectly caught due to the fact that a brain sculpture is used to figure out distinct parts of the brain to establish the characteristics that makes non–identical the thoughts, expressiveness, and so on, depending on the sex. Even if this talk is presented in a neurological way, it is enjoyable even for non-specialized…
In this political cartoon that was created by Mike Luckovich for the Atlanta journal strikes directly at the republican party. Stating that most people who are not middled aged christian white men are pretty much against them. It shows a large group of republicans but there are no women there even though there is a sign that says “ladies night”. One republican is asking another what other groups have they lost including the ones they already have even though it obvious that women are not at the party.…
In the passage Changez is starting to wonder about the truth between Chris and Erica. He wants to know if they really had the true love that Erica always seems to mention when talking about her love with Chris. Changez feels that Erica is only remembering the good from her and Chris, and all those memories are starting to take over herself, especially when“She had only achieved orgasm, and that, too, by fantasizing about him”(90). Since he is Muslim and they are both Christian he doesn’t fully understand this relationship because he doesn't share the religious background that Erica and Chris once shared.…
From a broad perspective, the primary reason, as to why McBride gives that question its own paragraph, is that he strives to underscore the momentous implications of the posed rhetorical question. Delving deeper into the specifics, he essentially exhorts the audience to capture the essence of the vast role that hip hop has played, throughout the course of history, in coalescing the African American community. Evidence from the text that further bolsters this claim is shown when the author states, “Today, 2 percent of the Earth's adult population owns more than 50 percent of its household wealth, and indigenous cultures are swallowed with the rapidity of a teenager gobbling a bag of potato chips. The music is calling. Over the years, the instruments…
Daniel Webster created a speech in 1825, which he delivered to the people who were fighting in the American Revolutionary War. Webster uses pathos, logos, ethos, diction, and syntax in his speech in different ways, some of them more than others.…
My paper is about how many people have their own opinions about what being an American is. To complete my research I looked at various articles and videos to really see what everyone thinks. The American voice to me is that we should be able to have freedom and we should have many opportunities to do what we want. In my opinion, I believe that Barack Obama is the best representation of America because he seems like he really cares about even the future of America. Being in American to me means that we have rights to be what we want to be. No other place has what America has, and that is life, liberty and equality. In my paper I will be talking about how different people view the way America, or what is to be American to…
The inaugural address, spoken by President Barack Obama, was largely written by the 27 year old Jon Favreau. “What is Required: The Price & Promise of Citizenship” captured the audience of the American people, with Obama’s natural ability to achieve praise without really saying anything. The country was told once again that we are in a crisis and that change is the answer. The speech teaches about Obama’s thoughts on common defense, and Americans are then assured that our country’s problems will be fixed, but that’s up to us, the people. The words spoken by Obama bring hope; “Obama’s aides have repeatedly referred to him as his own best speechwriter” through symbolism and slick wording, this speech did have some high points of persuasion. The speech also had its lows, which only could convince someone who knows little about politics or his views and past statements.…
In the summer of 2004, an aspiring young senator from Illinois was given the keynote spot at the Democratic National Convention. His name was Barack Obama. Obama was greeted by thousands of democratic party delegates who waved signs with his name, and about nine million people watch the convention at home. Obama appealed to the people of the convention as well as many across the country through his emotional address, as he cries out "we are one people". Throughout his address he speaks about national unity, that as the United States of America, we must be unified during times of hardships, as he touches upon the recent terrorist attack of September 11th. He touches upon himself, his American, and his support for the democratic party’s nominee: John Kerry.…
Even though his use of pathos helps support claim greatly, he also uses multiple metaphors in the address to emphasize his claim and persuade the audience. He explicitly states that America is a “beacon of freedom and opportunity” which helps people realize that America is still great (Obama, 2004). The subject of America is compared to a beacon or signal of freedom and opportunity. This is fitting because America is where many people all around the globe come to for a better way of life and more opportunities. This comparison causes the audience to realize how great the United States has become. He believes that every child should have a “decent shot at life”, and that the “doors of opportunity remain open” (Obama, 2004). He uses this to emphasize…
On Tuesday January 20, 2009, President Barack Obama announced his Inaugural address outside the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C., as the forty-fourth president of the United States of America. Obama's Inauguration speech was a noteworthy moment that was observed not only by three million people attending the event, but also by people around the world. The structure of the speech starts with Obama speaking about American hardships and the important challenges they face, the wars that Americans are involved in, how they have been affected by the economic crises, and also their recovery from 9/11. Presidents for many years have been using rhetoric to show their objectives and to summarize their beliefs on extensive issues to the people. Obama used numerous forms of rhetoric and rhetorical tools throughout his inauguration speech to help the viewer's connect with Obama. Obama called upon to the viewer's emotions and made logical points, at the same time preserving his own trustworthiness. Many official analysts propose that his inauguration speech was unsuccessful in inspiring the American people, in my opinion, President Obama use of rhetoric came without interruptions to model a complete and persuasive speech.…

He started with tremendous, impressive and passionate thank for Hilary Clinton which creates and increases the trust he has .Donald trump directly starts his speech unusually with a magnificent sentence which he has never dare to say before he won the election ” I’ve just received a call from Secretary Clinton.” Following the entrance he admires “She congratulated us — it’s about us — on our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign. I mean, she — she fought very hard.” This is the part where he creates an atmosphere which makes the opponents that he is a good president for all. To sum up he is creating an…

The Las Vegas shooting as everyone knows was such an unexpected and morbid incident. It was expected for the president of the United States to give some kind of acknowledgement to the cruel event, and his speech was a good start. He really showed support to all the unfortunate families that lost a loved one and said to them “ We are praying for you, and we are here for you, and we ask God to help you see you through this very dark period.”…
