September It was 2007 and Eddie Jones at age 27 was weighing in at a bloated 410 pounds. He wasn’t always this fat though, it started when he was 23.He joined the army at age 18, and he worked there for the next 5 years until his best friend Dave passed away. Dave died in an eating contest trying to break the world record for most hot dogs eaten in one minute. Eddie was devastated so he turned to food for comfort. Over the years Eddie went from 194 pounds to 410 pounds. One day Eddie was reading through the newspaper and saw a section in the newspaper that wanted someone to go up to space and fix a broken satellite but only with a fifty percent chance of coming back down alive. • You must be under the weight of 350 pounds
• You must be no taller than 6 foot 2
• You must have experience in others jobs
• You must be brave and not back down
• The space craft will leave on 1/28/15
Every restriction described Eddie except one, Eddie needed to lose 60 pounds.
Eddie believed though he could lose 60 pounds so he went on amazon and bought himself a weight lifting set, some getfitfast videos and also some yoga videos.
October All the workout stuff came and Eddie was ready to GET PUMPED, Eddie assembled the workout bench and got the new weights out: a 10 pounder, 15 pounder and a 30 pounder. Eddie also unwrapped the packaging on the brand new workout videos, he slid them into the TV and started his first workout. He started with sit-ups and got about five in before he was too tired to do anymore, but Eddie didn’t quit. He went straight into the kitchen got a big cup of water chugged the water and started doing more sit-ups and pushups. November Eddie was now tipping the scale in at around 400 pounds, he already lost ten pounds but still needed to lose 50 more pounds. Eddie woke up and started working out, he went outside and ran around his house for around 10 minutes and then went straight into his gym room to do his yoga and then some stretching followed up by some weightlifting and burpees. It was around noon when Eddie was completely gassed out wishing he could go to McDonald’s to go buy a Big Mac and an extra-large Coke but instead went to Walmart and bought some protein shakes and healthy sandwiches. Eddie was going to stay on a diet now. Later that night Eddie was doing some burpees and hopped on the scale when he was done. He weighed in at 358 pounds and was happy so he decided he could calm down on the workouts and maybe once in a while get fast
food. December Eddie wasn’t going to work out today at all instead he would just watch some college football and baseball. At around 1 PM he went to McDonald’s and bought a Big Mac and a large drink. He went home and ate his burger and plopped himself down on the scale in disgust. He weighed in at 370 and gained 12 pounds, Eddie was in shock so he turned off his T.V. and threw out his big mac. He worked out for the next 12 hours all over night and plopped himself on the scale again. He weighed 349 pounds, just enough to make it on the space ship, so he drove over to the Houston NASA space center and asked if he would be able to go up to space to fix the broken satellite. The man said that he would need to be weighed, so Eddie jumped on the scale, the scale read 351 pounds and Eddie was in shock. Eddie tore off his shirts and shoes hoping that the scale would read 349. The scale was having problems and then finally read 348 eddies was happy and ready to learn how to fix the satellite. January It was training day and the space ship would take off tomorrow but Eddie still needed to learn how to fix the satellite, He trained all day sweating hard but learned a lot. He couldn’t wait until Sunday when he could hear the final countdown 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1.
