PMR – AUTHORITARIAN

Now close your eyes…..makes sure you are at your most comfortable…..concentrate on the experience you are about to have….you will be in control throughout this experience…. You have come here to make changes…..you will drift into a completely natural state….a state that will help you to achieve these changes….you will remain in complete control….

Listen to my voice….you will concentrate on my voice….and only my voice…..now concentrate on my voice….all outside noises start to fade….outside noises are starting to become irrelevant….concentrate on your breathing….each breath in takes the same time as each breath out ….each breath in takes the same time as each breath out…….listen to my voice…..concentrate on my voice…..my voice will help you to achieve that natural state to achieve change…….to achieve your goals….

Still listening to my voice…..still concentrating on my voice…..now you will start to relax your body….feel your muscles from top to bottom….concentrate on relaxing your muscles from head to toe….your muscles are starting to feel relaxed….. you are still listening to my voice…..you are still concentrating on my voice….

From the top of your head…..let your muscles relax…..let yourself feel those muscles relax…..see yourself relaxing in your favourite place……your head will start to feel relaxed….to feel heavier ….and heavier….more relaxed….now …the power of your subconscious mind will start to imagine the rest of your body feeling more relaxed….your body is feeling relaxed….in order to easily achieve the changes you want to achieve by coming here today….

Letting the muscles in your neck relax….you are still in control….concentrating on you breathing….each breath in same time

All right, you just make yourself comfortable, close your eyes and know that you are in a safe place and you can leave this state at any time you choose....just separate your hands and let them lie loosely in your lap... or by your sides if that's more comfortable... it's better if your legs are uncrossed... but it doesn't matter if you feel you need to move just slightly, now and again... you don't have to be absolutely still... just be comfortable and relax the whole body as much as you can. I want you to concentrate on your breathing, just be aware of every breath.. now I want you to take a deep breath and hold it for a moment before breathing out slowly... just allowing your whole body to relax as you do so... and I want you to keep your eyes closed now and just keep listening quietly to the sound of my voice... you'll be aware of those other sounds, too... sounds inside the building, sounds from outside, people walking outside... but these won't disturb you... in fact, they'll help to relax you as they fade away as you concentrate on your breathing. And the sound of my voice, the only sound you're interested in is the sound of my voice... and while you're listening to the sound of my voice, I want you to concentrate for a moment on your breathing... breathing slowly and steadily and evenly, just as if you were trying to convince somebody that you were absolutely sound asleep... and as you breathe out each time, just allowing your whole body to relax more and more... so that you gradually find yourself feeling as if your whole body was sinking further and further into the chair with each breath you breathe...…

As an example, travelling by aircraft is used. The first step on the ladder is the planning of the trip. Think about the planning of the trip, the visit to the travel agent, whether or not you can book seats, what time of day you prefer to travel. This may cause anxiety – if it does, go back to the relaxation technique above. Do not move to the next step of the ladder until you have become completely comfortable and anxiety-free about the first step. This may take hours, days or even weeks, and some steps on the ladder may take longer than others.…

Deep breathing is powerful relaxation technique. The key to deep breathing is to breathe deeply from the abdomen, getting as much fresh air as possible in your lungs. The more oxygen you get, the less tense, short of breath, and anxious you feel. In can be executed by inhaling and exhaling rapidly through your nose, keeping your mouth closed but relaxed. This technique is…

This technique is mostly shown through hands on instructions. It suppose to focus on the present experience making the instructor develop a save relaxation for the client to understand, learn, and create a psychological awareness that they are able to unblock the blockage that they have built as an obstruction of their desire state of being. Alexander insisted that our head, neck, and back was an important fundamental. According to Gelb (1995) states, “ Alexander now understood that functioning of his vocal mechanism was influenced not only by his head and neck but by the pattern of tension throughout his body” (p.12). However, there have been trials that established a positive result in the movement of coordination, balance, posture regulation as well as muscle tone compliances. Alexander had established a experiment that included 108 young men between the ages of seventeen and twenty-two, placing a tape that went from the head to the back observing how much the tape moved downed over the ink mark that was place over the prominent vertebra. He found that out of 108 only one didn't move the tape, he was trying to explain the complexity of re-teaching one-self how to sit properly with proper posture. “ It is not surprising that most of these young men could not change their habitual head movement simply by trying.…

Here she will counteract the increased physical tension by standing in a relaxed state with flex in the knees, relaxing the neck and shoulder muscles and focusing on breathing from the diaphragm with a loose jaw and narrowing the focus to the task in hand keeping distractive thoughts at bay. Often the athlete can focus on a mantra whilst doing this, repeating thoughts like â€oerelax― as they perform the task. Once this type of exercise has been mastered by the athlete they will find they are able to recognise the cues of tension and use centring during performance effectively to get back on track. Over the weekend I tried my best to take 5 minutes to myself to re-center and be present. Tonight I was having trouble winding down, so after my tea, I searched for “Nighttime Meditation” on youtube. I meditated for about six minutes until I started to drift into sleep. I enjoyed the meditation because for those few moments of the day, I was able to quiet my mind, relax, and become sleepy. I feel that guided meditation works best for me; listening to the soft spoken words of the man from the video really helps me to smash all the irrelevant thoughts going through my head and really focus on what was going on in that present moment. I also enjoyed the part of the meditation where the man was guiding me to feel my body parts, from my feet up to the tip of my head. At this point, feeling relaxed, aware, and present I began to doze off. Of course, my head told me “Hey! You’re dozing off!” … there I go thinking again, and I shut off the video and immediately fell asleep.…
