The women that tell their stories in the book ‘Abortion: A Positive Decision’ say they aborted so that the child would not be born into the sad life that awaited them (Terzo 2). “Unintended pregnancies are associated with birth defects, low birth weight, maternal depression, increased risk of child abuse, lower educational attainment, delayed entry into prenatal care, a high risk of physical violence, and reduced rates of breast feeding (“Should Abortion Be Legal?” 4). All of these possibilities just from an unintended pregnancy are scary and stressful. Also, abortion allows babies with very severe and deadly disorders to not be born; they will not have to live a life living in constant pain (“Should Abortion Be Legal”? 3). These children should not have to suffer whether it be from being undesired or the possibility of a painful, possibly life shortening,
