Let me tell you a story about a friend of mine, his name is Mike. Mike is a construction worker and a former bodybuilder. Mike was involved in a bad car accident. It was so bad that he needed to have three surgeries. Even after these procedures, he was still in constant pain and has developed a painkiller addiction. His life became a downward spiral because of the constant pain and drug usage. As a desperate attempt Mike decided to contact a local acupuncturist based on a friend’s recommendation. After just two visits with the acupuncturist, he was finally able to experience an entire day completely pain free. Within three months of treatment, Mike was pain free and no longer needed to take prescription painkillers.
Is this simply a medical miracle? Most doctors won’t even suggest that a patient in great pain even attempt accupuncture. This was the case with Mike’s doctors, who never informed him of the option of using energy medicine. In fact some may even advise against it and just prescribe their patients drugs that could temporarily mask the pain. Not only will this give the patient a false sense of relief, but may lead to a new addiction which will only add to the patient’s hardships.

This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points. The classical Chinese explanation is that, channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these
