Screen time is also useful within an educational background.
Today's schools are administering iPads within their school districts and most schools have at least one to two computer labs. Children use computers to look up and research things that they do not know or may not understand. Although screen time is beneficial for the knowledge of young students it can also lead to false information due to some websites can be edited by those who may not know the facts of the topic that the website is asking for. Screen time can be proved knowledgeable by certain sources. On the contrary false information can be led through video games and the wrong sources online. Wikipedia, for example, can be edited by unreliable sources of people that are like you and me. This can lead to major impacts like college students who use sources online. Many colleges can expel students with the wrong sources. False information can get someone in a lot of
trouble.
Screen time can hinder the social skill that anyone can possess. While talking to a person behind a screen can be easy, we lose important skills. In order to get progress in a physical world eye contact body motions and proper speech etiquette is in order. We look at screens for so long that we lose ourselves into and emotional and mental world. Using screens causes thought processes to to take a different track makes attention spans to become shorter. This affects the ability to follow directions and causes procrastination. From one cat video to short lived moments called vines, just look out the window and see the sunrise. The day had been wasted and there is a probability that there was no snoozing in sight. Staying up the whole night until the sun peeks over. It has become the next day and not sleeping a wink can cause drowsiness, slow motor skills and may cause depression.
Screens are thrown right in your face whether in a restaurant, riding in a car on the highway, or walking around town. Not only can they ruin your eyesight but also distract you on the road. Electronic billboards are a thing nowadays and it is getting worse. I have a police scanner in the kitchen of my house and it's always blasting out emergencies from around gloucester county. I was sitting at my kitchen table and was alerted with a piercing tone. A man over the scanner, the dispatcher, called out several ambulances and the local fire department for a car crash on the highway. Living half a block from the department house I heard the sirens blair. The dispatcher again called over the radio that a woman was trapped in her car and the man she collided with claimed that he got distracted by a board that stood proud over the trees. “The man claims to watch a billboard slideshow while driving”(911 Dispatcher). That slide show could have killed someone but only the trapped woman had gotten out with some bruises.
Screens are used in everyday life. Screens are dangerous to ourselves and to others. Screens give us incorrect information that can affect our education.
