Adora Svitak Analysis

Adora Svitak says the world needs childish thinking. Childish thinking in her mind is bold ideas, wild creativity, and especially optimism. One thing we can learn from children is that anything is possible. In a kid’s world, anything is possible. Whereas as an adult we tend to place limitations on what we can do because it costs too much, it is too hard and hence it becomes impossible for us to do. Whereas, in a kid's world they are possible and, ideas are more important than the possibility. Hence, kids have bold ideas because to them anything is possible. To kids the idea is more important than any barriers that might prevent them from achieving those ideas. Kids can teach you to be creative and to think outside the box. Adora described
how a glass studio designed glass pieces from ideas that kids sketched and the results were beautiful, creative and crazy. She also says we should learn to trust a kid, and learn to allow them to teach us new things. Adora Svitak said in her speech that learning ideally should be reciprocal in that the child learns from the teacher and the teacher learns from the child. I liked her piece and felt she was right, we should all be in touch with our inner kid. I have always felt that maintaining a close relationship with your inner kid is important. I believe my inner kid is where all my creativity stems from. She definitely was right when she said we should learn from our kids and listen to what kids have to say. One thing that I saw on the internet that emphasized her thinking was where kids had developed a tag designated to let transgender teens know that kids with those tags were a safe bathroom buddy. Meaning they could go into the bathroom of their choosing and feel safe from harassment. I really felt she was exceptionally brilliant and mature as well.
