Although the play was a realistic storyline, personally the message of, ‘friends always stick’ together stood out. For example, although all accept one of the girls suffer from a major breakup, but they all ban together to ensure they enjoy themselves throughout their final moments at school like the highly anticipated formal and long-awaited graduation. It was moments like Jamie and Trish’s public breakup that really had a dramatic impact on the audience, mainly the girls, due to the connection between characters and audience. Both of these structured the storyline, taking the audience on a journey with the characters. For example, the theme song of the play features lyrics like “its been a long time coming” inferring the amount of time spent at school and how graduation would be worth it in the end. Whereas the screen at the back of the stage engaged the audience to go where the characters went. One of the highlights of the performance was when Amy and Brent connected during their music piece, this caused for an extremely dramatic scene that led to conflict and emotion, this scene manipulated relationship to engage the audience and the music assisted. Another part was the scene between where Trish discovers Jamie cheating on her in front of the grade 12 cohort, this scene used situation and place to convey the dramatic parts on the scene.
