There are several advantages of television like we all know that we can have a clear idea that what is happening in the world, we can have live information about the several events like sports and any other good or bad events happening on the globe. One can have a weather forecast and accordingly plan several things before time. It is also a good source of entertainment which is very cheap and within the access of every one. Television has shrunk the distance of the world you can watch what is happening several thousand miles away from you. So in totality it is information from all over the world, and it is fun and enjoyment with convenience. However along with some positive sides it has its disadvantages as well like watching too much of television also affects your eye and nerves. Television creates such a spell on children and in some cases it also effects the elders that they actually lose their own opinion they feel whatever is being shown on television is correct and should be practised as such. In such situation it is the responsibility of the broad caster to show what is safe to be shown on the television. But still several irresponsible television channels show content which is not be shown for every one like contents of sex, and violence etc. when there is acalamity , television can easily announce to the people what are going to happen.

The advantages of letting children watch TV are that if you let them watch the right kinds of shows they will learn things, like I mentioned above. If you let them watch Discovery Kids, they may get more into science and want to do experiments at home and be more excited to go to school specifically to go to science class and learn. TV can also help kids figure out what they like to do. If they see someone doing something on TV, they may want to try to do it to. For example, if the child sees someone playing football, they may want to go try out for the team. I also think a lot of it has to do with the kid’s home life. Some disadvantages could be if they have a bad home life, they may use TV as a way to escape and then they end up watching way too much TV and never doing anything else.…

Even though I am one of the many people who just loves to have the remote by their side, I strongly believe that television is nothing but detrimental to our society.…

There are a lot of advantages making television so popular. The main reason why so many people choose this means of getting information and entertainment is its simplicity and convenience. All you have to do is to press a button and sink comfortably into a chair. It doesn’t take all that much work to do and depending on what you watch, you are able to get a lot of information, and also get entertainment while doing so. One major problem with television is that people are becoming very dependent upon it. There are a lot less people going out and participating in sports because it takes up too much time and they don’t get to have their “TV time” which I personally think is ridiculous. People are becoming a lot lazier as the television becomes more advanced.…

Television has many negative effects on human's mind. One of the most important effects is that the television confuses the relationship between people in real life. The television provides attractive dramas and films which take over the mind of the viewers. Consequently, the people forget their mundane duties and the viewers start to think about problems of television actors. I think television obsesses human mind. It’s very dangerous for the relationship in family and out of it. For example, parents must require information about their children, about the grade in the school and health condition of children etc. If the parents spend their time watching TV they will be unable to prevent some social deviations like smoking, drinking, drugs etc.…
