I strongly disagree with you. As a police officer you have specialized training that an average citizen does not have, so therefore I feel that you are obligated to help. I believe that an off-duty officer will more likely than not have his gun and possibly his badge on him. I understand that you work from 8-4:30 and you feel no obligation to do your job after you are off the clock. However, your work is administrative work, Is anyones life in danger if you refuse to help after you are off the clock? Did you take an oath to protect public citizens? If the officer lets a criminal of that magnitude get away, what is his mind frame about crime? If he can sleep at night knowing he could've saved someones life and chose not to for…
I honestly believe that being a ploice officer is very hard. There are some positives and negatives to it. It is obvious that we are all human and make multiple mistakes, and at times we do not agree on the selection of choices that ploice officers use upon the people. Some of the positives are that police officers have the right of arrresting someone who is using illgeal behavior. For an example, say you are at a plaza walking around with your friends, and suddenly you see someone had too much to drink and they are causing a sence; to which you can't avoid or control the persons actions, you will have to call the police and they will settle the situation so it doesn't lead to breaking a law. A negative discretionary decision, would be the…
1) Honesty is most worthy but risky as well which is why I agree with your action that you…
As the start of World War II emerged Mexican Americans took part in changing public policies that affected their education and social status. The Good Neighbor Policy was implemented to improve the relationship the United States had with Latin America. One of the agreements under the policy was to make sure that any Mexican worker who entered the United States was not discriminated against anything. Texas on the other had large numbers of racial discrimination, and the United states feared any possible negative impact it could have on the Good Neighbor Policy in Mexico. Texas and federal government both took action on the discriminatory acts against Mexicans in the United States.…

Another reason younger people join, is to improve his or her education. Many young people are join the Junior Reserved Officer Training Corps (JROTC) in high school or ROTC in college and are granted a scholarship for outstanding leadership. Often the military will pay for college when one wants to improve his or her skills of a specific job related to the military. Others put money into a Government Issue know as the GI Bill to pay for education after retirement. Which is a great benefit among others the military provides.…
From there, I hope to study to be accepted into medical school and specialize in pediatrics. When preparing for medical school, the advice one hears are to become a well-rounded student. Through my DECA experiences I have been able to develop leadership skills that will help me thrive in my future. Over the three years I have been involved, I have stepped out my comfort zone and made a difference in my local DECA chapter, community, and my future. Now taking the responsibility of being a DECA officer, as the chapter president, has allowed me to continue to grow and develop my leadership, communication, and social skills. Working with the Milan DECA Chapter members has proven how difficult and enjoyable being a leader is. At times leading so many events can be stressful; however, the completion of the events pushes me further. In order to reach the goal of becoming ‘well-rounded’, I used DECA skills to organize my time to join other extracurriculars within my community. Along with DECA, I participate in 4-H which is a non-profit organization in counties all across the nation that prepares youth to make a positive impact on their communities. Furthermore, I lead my 4-H club in a Relay For Life team through the American Cancer Society. Additionally, I am a dedicated musician, drum major, and the first Milan High School Flute Choir Director. I am an active participant in the peer education program at Milan High School. I am so thankful for the opportunities to be a leader within my class, school, community, county, and…
Why would I like to be a senior officer? FFA is a passion of mine that started in the sixth grade, at McLaughlin Middle School. When I think of a FFA officer, I think of leaders, responsibility, determined men and women, creativity, team work, so many great things that everyone in life need! I have been a officer in the past. I have completed the following duties, reporter, vice president and currently I’m the secretary for the junior officer team.…
People ask me why do i want to become a DEA agent in specific and my community and the place I've grown up in really has made in impact in this decision. living in a neighborhood where kids as young as twelve years old are selling dope to fiends, and where crime rate increases by the years made me come to the realization that i could help make a change. Dealing with drugs, and drug trafficking in the Unites States will give me hope for the future. DEA agent training would be great to get involved in to try to help keep illegal substances off the streets.…
I possess the characteristics that the National Junior Honors Society (NJHS) is based upon, like Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.I take criticism with an open mind, I put others ahead of my own needs. I am as honest and reliable as I can be. I never judge others by the way they look, and I respect them, consider their fells and hold concern for them. I love to learn and learning new ways to think, I also love spending time helping others. I was told that I am a good leader because of my love to help others. I always try my best at everything I do, while having as much fun as possible. I just want to be the best I can be, and I believe NJHS will help me with that dream.…
I want to be a NCO because I want responsibility to lead Soldiers. I think I will be a good NCO. I was put in a NCO slot before in my last unit. I had respect from other soldiers in my squad when I was put in charge. I believe have the qualities to motivate other Soldiers. However, I know I need to take initiative better before I become a NCO. Taking initiative is a great trait to have when I am a NCO. It will show my Soldiers and my peers that I am willing to step up and take charge if others will not. I will stand out in a positive way above my peers, becoming noticed by my superiors as having the qualities of a great leader and NCO. I want to be a NCO that will always set new standards. While the Army has minimum standards for which tasks should be accomplished, I want to be that NCO that always tries to excel beyond the minimum. I want my Soldiers to speak highly of me and I will push my Soldiers to the best above the rest. I want to be the NCO that others will look at and say, “That’s how I want to be when I become a NCO.” Once I become a sergeant, I should never allow myself to slow down and relax. Instead, always try to achieve the next rank and the next position. Never get too comfortable where I’m at, I might not ever want to leave it. I realize a NCO should always strive to better themselves professionally. I learned from my superiors that when the time is right I can take over for them. Likewise, training those below me for the same, they can be ready to fill that empty slot. Do not talk about wanting to be the best, go out and become it. I would have the opportunity to have a positive influence on Soldiers and continue to set the example that has been laid out before me by my leaders. I would be honored to have considered myself to be part of that time honored corps. Avoidance of toxic leadership begins by setting the example of being a leader. I want to take the next step in my military career by growing as…
As an AKA, I will strive to become a better friend, neighbor, and sister. I want to improve our community by working together to improve our education system because it is not only crippling African Americans, but the entire country. Alpha Kappa Alpha is composed of women who believe in helping others. A woman of Alpha Kappa Alpha is the personification of the woman I wish to one day become. Thank you for your time and…
Organizations, like LIA, enable individuals to have the resources they need to obtain an education. In addition, it also provides them with opportunities to grow and gain skills they can use as they move on to post-secondary education. Each of these then increases an individual’s chance for a better standard of living, in all aspects, and as they have this, the better chance they have at obtaining the American Dream.…
I have experience with fire arms, vehicles and rp'ing out situations, a few of my (Lspd) friends seem to always want a helping hand and i could fill that slot, such as on patrols etc. I want to sweep the crime off the streets and make LS a safe place to all who live in it, and also to make some fun experiences whis helping in any way I can. LSPD to me would be a dream and a great place for me in LS. I want to support any fellow officer in need and i can respond fastly to a scene if…
An officer is someone to look up to and must represent the organization well. A successful officer must set aside her selfish desires and must always make the correct decision. Being a good role model sets the example for the team, which sets the bar for the whole year. A positive attitude is included in being a good role model. Negative ideas, comments, actions, and facial expressions only weaken the team bond. ‘Everything happens for a reason’ should be the mantra of an excellent officer. Through this, an officer can look at a difficult situation and remain positive, finding the best solution and looking for a bright…
