My mother kept her rental property and worked hard to give her children a good life, but adversity soon visited my life again. When I was in the sixth grade my mother lost her rental property and her hours at work dramatically slowed down. Things were slowly but surely changing. This is when I started to let adversity get the best of me. In school I always was talkative and got in a little trouble from time to time, but I knew when to stop. I was developing a nasty ‘’ I do not care’’ attitude, authority did not mean as much as it used to. I gradually started getting into more and more trouble. My behavior put more unneeded stress on my mother. It would have been easy to just blame my behavior on the lost of my father, but over time, I realized that the world does not stop for anyone. There are just some things you have to learn from and then move on. I believe God put all these circumstances in my life for a reason. He blessed my mother with a better job, and he also changed me. I started to understand what responsibility is. He blessed me to go to a high school where I could learn more about him. If I did not attend my high school I probably would not see the blessing in my adversity. Now I am not completely over the loss of my father, but I strive for success not only for me, but for him also. I have real motivation I can see every day
