What is a SWOT analysis and what is its purpose? The acronym SWOT is short for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Namely, strengths and weaknesses are analyzed internally, but opportunities and threats are analyzed externally. However, to perform “the SWOT analysis is complex; it involves political, economic, societal, and technological factors known as the acronym (PEST)” (Swotmatrix). With this in mind, the author conducted a SWOT analysis interview on Friday, August 3rd-4th with Affordable Dentures, 5800 SW 21 ST, Topeka, KS, 66604. The author met with David N. Wexler D.D.S. and Administrative Assistant Mrs. Sammie Kennedy. Indeed, the interview provided the author an objective perspective of Affordable Dentures (AD) client base and services. Therefore, the purpose of this essay is to describe the strengths weaknesses, opportunities, and threats for Affordable Dentures to identify key areas for improvement. …show more content…

Alternatively, AD does not offer weekend appointments for patients. To point out a normal flow of patients, there are nine people for dentures, four consultations, four relines (rebuild the dentures), two surgeries in the afternoon, and eight adjustments. Scheduling times run very close, roughly two patients per half-hour. On the other hand, when AD is fully staffed, they treat up to three patients per hour. AD has been in business for about four years and treated 7,239 people. The patients arrive at AD with a number of specific oral health
