Abstract
The organizations that operate in one country, when they start their operations in another country they need to analyze number of factors that can influence the management in formalizing the business strategies. These factors have direct influence on organizations and they are necessary to consider because what works in one county may not work in another country. These factors are could be political, economic, legal, technological, environmental, and legal. These factors are concerned with the operating environment of organizations. Other factors are related with the national cultural values. It is very important to understand the cultural differences because these cultural differences form the behaviors of the individuals and shape their values. These individuals bring these behaviors and values at organizations and organizations’ strategies are highly influenced by these cultural factors.
The purpose of this report to compare and analyze the operating environment, and national cultural environment of China and Australia. For this reason, Qantas Airways has been selected. Qantas is widely regarded as the world 's leading long distance airline and one of the strongest brands in Australia.Further, this report highlights the cultural differences between two countries using the Hofstede and Trompensaars cultural dimension. These cultural differences must be incorporated in the business strategies of Qantas. It is discussed further in the report that what challenges that Qantas will face when they will move their business from Australia to China. A number of business areas have been selected for this purpose and jotted down the challenges that the organization has to face in China in those business areas. Finally, some strategies and recommendations have been given in order to meet these challenges in China.
