Ako Ay Tao
Aquino boasted in his speech the project achievements of his administration in the past year.
This includes the increasing GDP (Gross Domestic Product) rating from 6.8% last 2012 to 7.8% in the first quarter of 2013, increasing employment rate of students who graduated in TESDA, the benefit increase in Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Project, the implementation of the K To 12 education system that aims to raise the quality of education, Lowering level of rice importation, Expansion of Z Benefit package of PhilHealth, the promotion of Project Noah, and many others.
Although there are lot of accomplishment made by the government, Aquino doesn’t necessarily denied the fact that there are still need to be organized and done to continue achieving a successful country and to individuals as well.
But there is noticeable in President Aquino’s SONA, even from the 1st to the 4th is that he acknowledges the achievements of his cabinet members. He does not grab the credit for himself, even though he can do it, because after all he is the President of the Philippines. This is one of the traits that a leader must possess, and our President has it.

He also said that this is the time for those honest and hardworking people to shine and step-up especially in the government. He said also presented 3 police officers and commended their heroic deeds which must be the role model of every government officials. After the 4th SONA, many Filipinos are hopeful that President Noynoy will continue his efforts to run after corrupt officials and bring back the trust of the people to the government.
There are no obvious lies and spinning in the President's SONA, for even a broken democracy as ours does not need propaganda to calm those dissatisfied citizens.
People do not really fear the government, but neither do they really trust it? If anything, it is harder to rouse community out of indifference for the government's initiatives. Who believes election promises anymore? Change is a

YEAR AGO this week, on 30 June 2010, Benigno Simeon Aquino III, known as “Noynoy,” was sworn in as president of the Philippines. He came to power with a sense of destiny derived, above all, from his parents. His father, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, was gunned down on the tarmac of the Manila airport when he returned to the Philippines in August 1983 to lead the opposition against dictator Ferdinand Marcos. His mother, Corazon Cojuangco Aquino, became the iconic leader of a Yellow Revolution that captivated the world. Thrust into the presidency upon the downfall of Marcos in the People Power uprising of February 1986, she remained a widely respected figure in Philippine politics until her death from cancer in August 2009.…

The highlights of his administration were the Filipino First Policy (which is said to be what he is known for), Austerity Program (that didn’t became that successful), Bohlen–Serrano Agreement, and many more. They said that the main focus of his administration is to improve the economy of the Philippines and make it independent to other countries from its needs.…

First, let's admit the fact that he wasn't voted into office because of actual qualifications. He was a lackluster lawmaker in congress and didn't exactly make impressions in terms of his career. He coasted along until his mother died. Suddenly everybody thought it would be a good idea to vote him into office as president. It was what is expected of the son of the late Benigno and Cory Aquino, both great former presidents of the Philippines. He lacks charisma or even basic public speaking abilities. The media has a lot of bad comments especially when he speaks with the press. He commits a lot of stupid pronouncements and sometimes what he says is beyond comprehension. He should get himself a media coach to train him in handling himself around the press and the whole country.…

Every Filipino dreams that one-day, we would be saved by a great leader who will pull us out of poverty and free from the dictates of other powerful nations. For more than once we have shown the world the power our people through bloodless revolutions that made us inspire and earn the respect of other nations. Plagued by amnesia, our resounding voices were easily silenced and our flaming spirit gone cold. We were unable to sustain the energy that we had... thinking that change will be that simple... that easy... that sudden. Indeed the Arroyo government survives not because of active support of the Filipino people, but because the alternative was unthinkable. For a while let us put aside our negative comments, we may not exactly know if the administration is religiously doing its job, but we can always assess ourselves on our own performance as followers.…

The Philippines’ full year Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2013 grew by 7.2 percent, higher than the government’s expectations of 6 percent to 7 percent and despite several challenges that strained the economy last year (Lopez, 2014). Gross National Product in Philippines increased to 2075531 PHP Million in the fourth quarter of 2013 from 2047706 PHP Million in the third quarter of 2013 (Trading Economics, 2013). This is despite the man-made and natural calamities that brought economic stagnation on some regions of the country, like what happened in Tacloban when it was struck with super typhoon Yolanda. Philippines’ economic boom has really been jaw-dropping, and even the foreign countries get amazed and call the country as the “Asia’s rising tiger economy”.…

Millions of Filipinos grieved when Jesse Robredo passed. For almost two decades, he served and led Naga with skill, compassion, and humility. One of the hardest things I ever had to do as President was to deliver the news to Leni, after the tragedy. Apart from grieving, I could not avoid blaming myself for what happened to Jesse. Maybe if I had not asked him to join my Cabinet, he would still be alive today. Maybe if he had remained in Naga, he would still be with us. Maybe there would still be a Jesse Robredo in public service today.…

The simple yet notably patriotic statement of the president earned the applause of the participants at the conference, in which hopefully the Filipinos appreciated it - regardless of their political stand about his administration. Come to think of it, it would be wonderful if the statement “I love the Philippines more” is likewise uttered – loud and proud – by every Filipino; with the ‘loving part’ put into action in perpetuum.…

    How to Help Our Country

“TWELVE (12) LITTLE THINGS EVERY FILIPINO CAN DO TO HELP OUR COUNTRY,” by Alexander Ledesma Lacson, may be a “voice in the wilderness”; but as Fr. Rueben Tanseco, S.J. what Alex proposes are “very concrete, practical and doable” actions for us ordinary Filipinos. And the best part is that these 12 things don’t need to be debated upon by our congressmen and senators, reviewed by a bicameral conference committee and finally signed by the President before they can be part of the laws of the land, which may or may not be complied with because our Supreme Court can “TRO” the whole thing; and it may take time to resolve the issue, which then would still be the subject of a possible motion for reconsideration.…
