Al Zink's Invisible Sponsor
Were Al Zink’s actions that of someone trying to be an invisible sponsor?

Yes, no doubt that Al Zink trying be an invisible sponsor. As pointed out in (Kerzner, (2013)) case study Al Zink was not at all ready to make any decisions, he was afraid what would happen to his reputation if the project were to fail. In the first place, Al intentionally tried to avoid Fred several requests to lay out the schedule so that Fred can come with schedule for the project. During the heated conversation between Al and Fred, It was only when Al yelled “just give me a least time schedule” (Kerzner, (2013)) , Fred made Al to decide on something. Once Fred came up with a schedule and asked Al to sign, Al intentionally ignored Fred emails, it was only when there was a mail sent CC’ed their president, Ali signed on the copy. These actions clear suggest to me that Al Zink trying be an invisible sponsor.

Yes, there is no doubt in my mind that Fred acted appropriately in trying to get Al Zink to act as a sponsor. Each People in an organization have their roles and responsibilities to act upon and it was Al Zink duty to act as project sponsor and Fred had every right to request several times lay out the schedule to Al Zink as it was Al’s duty. It seems Fred also smelled Al wanted to be invisible sponsor, so Fred actions made sure to lay out the time and sign the schedule document.

What is your best guess as to what happened to the working relationship between Al Zink and Fred

Martin Luther King was the president and chairman of a “negotiating committee” that was set up and composed of about a dozen people, delegated to represent the Montgomery Improvement Association (MIA) in the viewpoint discussions with white officials. He devoted much of his time to this role and was the spokesman authorized to deliver the African American opinions at conferences. MIA had two other committees including the financial and transportation committees, these played a large role in coordinating the boycotts and were all largely led by King (Garrow).…

They threatened Ali with 5 years in jail and a ten thousand dollar fine, which was the normal penalty for avoiding the draft at the time. Although he was a successful celebrity this would affect more than is finances, it would also affect the way the people of the United States would look upon their great boxer. Eventually Ali was persecuted but he never went to jail for it. They also cancelled all of his next boxes that were coming up for the next three years and the committee stripped of all his boxing titles that he ever…

The speaker of this letter is MLK, who was “confined” physically, but not mentally, in a jail cell at the time of writing this letter. MLK takes advantage of the fact that he is in a jail cell to establish himself as a much more credible writer in many ways. First, he writes this entire letter impromptu and does not edit it in any ways that will make it superficial for the readers. Since the letter is not veneered in any way, it is more believable to its readers because all the words in the letter are honest and sincere. Secondly, MLK quotes from many famous “extremists”, such as Jesus Christ, Thomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln, off the top of his head to justify how he truly is enthusiastic and devoted to his cause. It is not an easy feat to come up with the quotes of famous “extremists” in a jail cell. On another note, MLK also characterizes himself as a credible author by listing out his credentials. He starts by stating that “[he has] the honor of serving as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference” (King 204), then takes great efforts in describing the headquarters of the SCLC and its many affiliated organizations across the South. His care in describing the size of the SCLC infers that he has the invaluable experience and leadership needed to fuel the civil rights movement. This…

On April 3rd, 1963, the Birmingham campaign began and people were protesting against racism and injustice. The non-violent campaign was coordinated by King's Southern Christian Leadership Conference and Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights. However, King was roughly arrested with other main leaders of the campaign on April 12th for disobeying the rules of “no parading, demonstrating, boycotting, trespassing and picketing”. While jailed, King read a letter (“A call for unity”) written by eight white Alabama clergymen against King and his methods from the newspaper. In the letter, the clergymen stated that the campaign were "directed and led in part by outsiders," urging activists to use the courts if rights were being denied rather than to protest. The letter provoked King and “the Letter from Birmingham jail” was a written response to the white clergy men and to defend the strategy of non-violent protesting. Throughout the letter, King used many stylistic writing elements and effective emotional appealing to make people want to join his case.…

While watching this video I noticed quite a few issues with this meeting. This committee got together without an agenda and without any planning. There was no cohesion in this team. At first, when they were introducing themselves, I felt they kind of isolated the lady that had just moved there. When she stated that she joined the committee to meet people, Dave made it clear that the rest of them were there to discuss a playground.…
