He was born in Pella in the kingdom of Macedonia. Alexander the Great was born in July 20, 356 B.C. He died in 323 B.C. Alexander is famous because at young age he captured an enormous amount of Asia and went undefeated. At young age he tamed the wild horse Bucephalus. When Bucephalus died he named a city in India after him. His mother was Olympias and his father was Phillip II. Olympias was the daughter of king Neoptolemus I of Epirus. In 338 B.C. He always knew what to do in bad situations and how to quickly take care of bad moral. Alexander excelled immensely at using the different terrains he fought on to his advantage. Alexander is also famous because he went on a 22,000 mile campaign around the continent of Asia. Alexander is known to have re-captured an entire city without even fighting. He captured the entire Persian empire. On his campaign of the city of Susa he captured its legendary treasures. Alexander the Great once had to backtrack across Europe and Asia which is amazing because GPS’s weren’t around in 334-323 B.C. Alexander the Great was marveled at by his troops because he ate the same amount of rations they ate and the same amount of water they drank. Others looked up to Alexander because in the act of adding on to the empire of Macedonia he also combined many religions which made the world a better place in general. The most famous religion was a combination of German and Macedonian. People also looked up to Alexander because he was known to have been wounded by about every known medieval weapon. When he was campaigning Alexander always traveled in the front of the army. In this way he built the confidence of his men. Alexander never let his men feel fear. There are so many things he did for the world. He captured an entire empire from the Balkens to modern day Pakistan. He combined so many religions. Think about the world today. What if Alexander hadn’t taken over Persia? Asia might’ve had different countries. Many religions could be different and people still enemies. Alexander inspired many people into becoming great leaders. If he didn’t inspire other people the world would probably be a duller place from what we know today. He earned the loyalty and respect he got from his soldiers. Alexander couldn’t have tried harder to be the great leader he was. Tales of Alexander have been told to keep his legacy going until this very day. The world will not easily forget Alexander. Sometimes you just can’t use words to describe the entire history of Alexander. The many many things he did in his short lifetime was just amazing. He only lived 32 years which is especially short, and yet in those 32 years he just dominated and destroyed so many cities. It’s just so amazing if you sit back and think about it. Pretend you were him. Right before a battle he wouldn’t have been worried. He was always so confident, and that confidence paid off when he never lost a single battle in his entire campaign.
