Allan Lutz Hawkins Eulogy
This eulogy is dedicated to my former friend, grandfatherly-figure, and mentor.
Hello, I am Brandon Kemble for those of you who don’t know me, and consider the Hawkins family a part of my own. It is for this reason that I am here, before you, to share the love I had for Allan.
Allan Lutz Hawkins, or, better referred to by my present and former childhood self as, “Mr. Hawkins,” was a wonderful and inspirational soul who lived every moment for and by the present; and it was his presence that left an indelible impression upon me and altered the course of my life forever. I assure you, ladies and gentlemen, it has made all the difference as you shall see.
In this speech, I will do my best to elucidate a few of the fondest memories I had the privilege

Why? Because he was a captivating individual who enriched me with knowledge and laughter-hard to forget moments created by people like him. I remember playing with his elephant ears while sitting behind him in the car, and how he would hilariously respond by suddenly lunging his hands toward mine and grabbing them. It was a game that we would play, that, and the automotive enthusiast’s equivalent of eye-spy. I also remember him eating snapper soup and explaining how it packs a powerful bite. Moreover, listening to big band music with him was very enjoyable, and I even once introduced him to rap music, which, as you probably assumed, didn’t go too well. I must admit that I got him to bop his head to the beat of the music a few times, which I found quite amusing.
Another salient point I wish to make about Mr. Hawkins, is the admiration I had for his extensive automobile knowledge, which I am proud to say was partially inculcated in me. Even more impressive was his artistic abilities. He was very observational and viewed automobiles as a sculpture, and not as merely a tool. I remember speaking to him extensively about a painting on the day of my high school graduation and enjoyed it thoroughly. I even remember him telling me about designing a 1940 Dodge in 1932-even the automobile industry couldn’t keep up with this

Hello. For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Gene Forrester. I was Phineas’ roommate and best friend. We are here today to pay tribute to and celebrate Finny’s remarkable life. Truth be told, writing this speech was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. It wasn’t challenging because I knew too little about Finny to share, but because I knew too much. I knew Phineas better than anyone else; we were constant companions. We were two parts of one whole and the more I got to know Finny the more proud I became to be his friend. He was talented, virtuous, joyful, and so much more. It is a tragedy that a person as young and precious as Finny has been taken so soon. Finny affected us all in ways we can’t even imagine.…

Henry Ford, born on July 30, 1863, in Wayne County, Michigan, was an American industrialist who founded the Ford Motor Company. When he was just thirteen years old, Henry Ford received a pocket watch from his father, which he promptly took apart and put back together again. Everyone was impressed with his talent. At age 16, he apprenticed as a machinist and learned important skills that would help him in his chosen career path. Years later, he became an engineer. In 1908, he created the Ford Model T car (Biography.com. 2015, par.1-3). Although he accomplished all this, he is widely known for his invention of the assembly line, which revolutionized the industry and would still be…

I chose to do my project on Henry Ford and the mass production of Ford automobiles. The main reason I chose this topic is because I am a real car enthusiast how mostly likes foreign cars, but likes a few American made vehicles. There is also another reason why which is Ford has manufactured my favorite American muscle car the 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback. I’m also interested in finding out how he came up with the idea of creating cars.…

To start off with we have Henry Ford. Technically Ford never invented the assembly line, but he was a sponsor who used it to the point where it became important. A car was a luxury for America before Ford came along, his company soon started to develop cars the average middle-class American could afford. This practice is now known as Fordism as Henry Ford was the first to make use of the tactic of mass production and low costs. Ford was a pioneer when it came to fair wage going as far as to pay his workers 5$ a day. The work week was also reduced to forty hours, five eight hour work days a week. Ford’s companies was also responsible for producing a number of war materials in World War Two at a rate that could rival the production of their Model T. When it came to the B-24 Bombers Ford’s factory at Willow Run was able to produce one bomber every 58 minutes, and ended up making about half of the total bombers. In the end Ford has been known to be a producer in American history, the first producer to make automobiles accessible, something many…

There was a warmth in him that made you feel good about yourself. It’s only natural that a part of us would have held out hope in connecting with him again and feeling that warmth. I was lucky enough to spend time with him over the last several weeks, but in order to write this eulogy, I had to ask my family to fill in some holes for me. They were more than happy to tell me stories of his youthful mischief, exceptional abilities, and loving displays of affection.…

Although Mr. Ford has legendary status in our society, it is interesting to know what he did, and just as interesting to know what he did not do. He did not invent the gasoline engine. He did not invent the automobile, and he did not build the first fully operational automobile. What he did do took far more genius. He recognized the potential of the automobile as the future mode of transportation, replacing of course the horse and carriage, and he also envisioned the mass production of this “horseless carriage” as a means to put it within economic reach of the average worker. In short, Henry Ford put the world on…

Writing this eulogy allowed me to tap into memories way in the past. Whenever we would come down to visit from Pennsylvania grandma would grasp my wrist and pester me about not speaking creole. I would shrug as not quite sure what to say. Eventually she would let go and this became routine whenever I saw her when I was younger. Also, I was around seven-years-old when grandma came to visit us. On the ride home we began to slap one another on the arm. It was strange but in a good way.…
