Every person’s belief or thought on what the American dream is, differs from anybody else’s. To me the American dream would be that everybody could get into collage cause most cant afford it and cant even get a scholarship cause not a lot of people are getting into collage because of the price of it people who get into collage are lucky they could if you had a child that wanted to go into collage and you didn’t have money would you like to tell your child that she cant because it is to expensive it is not easy to get money fast so having lots of money is helpful but easily wasted this is part of my American dream here are some examples and other perspectives of the American dream, from Emma Lazarus, Langston Hughes, and Francis Duggan, and about there poems “The New Colossus”, “Refuge in America”, and “The First Americans”
The American dream is a personal thing. Every person’s belief or thought on what the American dream is, differs from anybody else’s. There is one noticeable common thread between every conceivable dream though: the dream is to live a better life socially, monetarily, or contentedly than your parents did. The conflicts at the time helps determine what aspect of life you wish to improve upon, but it will always be the same principal as long as America stands free. One thing that was a start of the American dream was the statue of liberty was a peace treaty and now stands for honor and liberty as said in “The New Colossus” written by Emma Lazarus. People come from all over to see lady liberty and how she affects us immensely by representing our freedom . “The New Colossus” talks about Mother of Exiles(Statue of Liberty) and how she lets in immigrants to have a better life in America.
Dr. Martin Luther King lived in a time of Racial Segregation. He grew up with people scorning him simply because of the color of his skin. This happened to Langston Hughes the author of the poem “Refuge in America” to many people
