The director of this video puts the two groups of girls in a house where they learned to overcome their differences. In the beginning of the video the girl’s discriminate each other because of their beliefs, and backgrounds. The girl’s had been taught to be enemies by their parents. The feud that they were trying to overcome was centuries old. One of the girls name was Inas. She said that,” the Jews killed my father.” This shows how big some of the things the girls had to overcome were. Even though all the things they had gone through, they were still rational about everything. They ended up becoming friends, and the relationships they are in ended up changing their lives. They were able to overcome these obstacles that kept them from having relationships by being accepting of each other’s differences. In this video the director shows how accepting differences can change your whole life. The girl’s relationship will affect them throughout their lives, and because of their relationships, maybe they can start to mend a torn country by passing the traits that they have learned down to their kids. The author of “American Flag Stands for Tolerance” understood each side’s difference. He may not have completely agreed with both sides, but he tried to understand where they both came from. In the story “The Wife’s Story” the author did not accept any of the differences instead they killed the one that was different from them. Finally the director of My So Called Enemy showed that if we can learn to overcome our differences and accept people for who they are, then we could make relationships with people that can alter our lives. I found that after each story, or video, accepting differences will be what can help shape the world for the future
