Oh, you perfect violet mineral, you.

Sulfur, Amethyst, and Brass are amazing minerals. However, Amethyst is my favorite. Amethyst is one of many in the quartz family. It is the color violet. It is Silicon Dioxide.
Amethyst has a white streak. Amethyst has a hardness of 7 on Mohs scale of mineral hardness.does have a Luster that is considered glass-like. It is very brittle and it is transparent or translucent. Amethyst is brittle. Amethyst is found in many parts of the world, including South Korea, Canada, Zambia, and in the many areas of the United States.
