Have you ever worked at a fast food joint before? Well, a majority of teenagers have, and are currently working in establishments such as Mcdonald's, Wendy’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and etc. Teens want to hit the ground running when it comes to working for some cold hard cash. Sadly, many adults believe that jobs like that are unhealthy for adolescents. No, not just the food they make, the work environment itself. Many adults and fellow parents believe that teens are way too maturely underdeveloped to acquire and work in the world around them. Although teenagers are stereotyped as immature and irresponsible; teenagers (with the right steps) can become efficient and knowledgeable individuals in the workforce. An essay, written by sociologist Amitai Etzioni, talks about his belief of teens working at Mcdonald’s esque restaurants. Now, at some points I can agree on the beneficial and not so beneficial aspects of working as a teen.
