Ammaniti Quotes
1. The reason Ammaniti has started with the quote by Jack London is because he is trying to show us what is going to happen in this book and will involve real evil. The literal meaning of falling into darkness is that Michele literally falls into a hole, which is full of darkness, and the symbolic meaning is that true evil is in the hole.

2. Michele had to choose to ethier help his sister or keep going with the race so that he wouldn’t have to perform the ‘forfeit’. At first he kept running the race but then he turned around to find that Maria wasn’t following so in the end he went back to help his sister. Because of this you can find that Michele is ignorant at first but after he goes back you find that is caring and worries for his sister.

I choose this quote because I like the way it was written. The choppy, quick sentences show a real sense of urgency. With all leading up to this quote, you would expect for it to be some big ordeal or bad news. And it was. The way Mark was quick and to the point showed that something was wrong and it helped built tension in the chapter. Also, Alas Babylon ending his message gave meaning to the title. After seeing that, I knew that something big was about to happen. It also gave meaning to the title of the book.…

“There are so many ways to be brave in this world. Sometimes bravery involves laying down your life for something bigger than yourself, or for someone else. Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known for the sake of something greater.” This quote by Veronica Roth is true, however, the greatest act of bravery is giving up everything for someone lesser than yourself, like in The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The story revolves around an Afghan named Amir and the son of his father 's servant, Hasssan. Amir betrays Hassan and spends the rest of his life trying to redeem himself. Of all the characters in the book, Hassan is the bravest because he stands up for and protects Amir, even when it costs him everything.…

It is stated in a the book that, as for Marlow, "the meaning of an episode was not inside like a kernel but outside, enveloping the tale which brought it out only as a glow brings out a haze" (Chapter I). the story is called "inconclusive." Generally, the meaning can't be cut down to a few sentences. This is not stated, it is rather suggested. This sometimes makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly what about a passage that makes you feel a certain way, and it is rather difficult to explain the actual meaning of symbols- especially in this case: the darkness. But this is what makes the book so interesting, it leaves you wondering and asking so many questions…

Power was the main thing everyone wanted to have. Obtaining it was another problem. They had to be able to succeed in hardships and be able to go through difficulty in order to gain popularity and power. An example of a leader who earned his power by displaying his ability of making strategies that encouraged people to join him on his conquests and expeditions was Alexander the Great. Although some successful leaders are born into a high rank, the man who would eventually become Genghis Khan, Temujin, was born into poverty and misfortune. With great difficulty, Temujin overcame his disadvantage to become a powerful…
