Every year our community of 12 houses selects one house to cook and host a thanksgiving dinner. Our luck of not getting selected had ran for 6 years. When my parents were notified through email that our family selected my parents had told them that we were vegetarian. When I say that we were vegetarian it is not it means that being vegetarian is in my blood. I have never eaten meat in my life, my parents haven’t, my grandparents have not. However, it is the fresh cooked turkey that seals the deal for an amazing dinner. Cooking the green beans, the corn was a walk in the park for my parents, so that was nothing to worry about. However, what we did not think about were the pies. It is easy to go to the store and buy pre made pies, but nothing compared to fresh homemade pies. After contemplating, my mom made the decision to make an apple and pumpkin pie. For someone who had never baked cookies from scratch, this was definitely out of my mom’s comfort zone. What we were left to still think about was the turkey, and the big question if we would be able to pull of this huge
