An Educated Man
Education has existed throughout history in one form or another. The process of passing down of information from one generation to the next has been present in every human society, before and up to present. An education is the collective knowledge a person has and is also a tool to be used differently in every part of the world, but it’s not wisdom at all. It is just a step in attaining what we want to know or the society dictates what we should know. Coming from an ordinary family, I have found out that, indeed, education gives bliss to anyone who has it, a value that can surpass wealth, but only if, it is along with the heart. So now, what then is an educated man? Is he the man who has read a lot? Is he the man who has read many facts and events?

An educated man is not afraid to make changes. Having doubt allows a person to expand his insights on a subject. As he learn, he should not stop expanding or developing it. He usually asks questions and makes sure he is given a good answer. On the other hand, an educated man also respects facts and truths and seeks to see things as they really are. Another one, educated man understands that spirituality is the strongest foundation of all learning. He should know and praise his creator. He values everything that God created like caring the environment and make it better than he found it. He also has equal approach for all without regard of gender, race or anything else. He is not judgemental, instead an open-minded person. An educated man can also acquire facts and figures; correlate them in his mind and than use them productively. And lastly, he appreciates art and life. Education teaches us both how to live and how to appreciate.

For me, you don’t need to genius like Albert Einstein to be known as educated man. Just as long as you are responsible on what you know, you seem to be educated in others eyes. It doesn’t matter how much knowledge you learn, what matters most is how you develop those knowledge and how

Education allows people to learn more about themselves, and therefore, learn more about each other. Really, the only thing that makes sense in life is to strive for greater collective enlightenment. Plato shows how people become content with life’s delusions when they are not constantly seeking the truth and how experiencing new things will expand their mind to new thoughts and ideas that they were previously blind to. Frederick Douglass shows how humans can use the lack of education to keep others in the dark and only through education can those people break free. Thomas Newman presents the idea that once you are educated, you shouldn’t be satisfied and you should continue to seek out new forms of knowledge. These three author’s ideas collectively…

Kohn states in the article that there are many people in the world who do have brilliant ideas, but do not necessarily know how to put them down using correct grammar skills. The author firstly addresses that education is not always first priority, that the main target towards education is to create good and creative people. Education means understanding the knowledge one has as well as the skills and material that one has learned from attending a school, college, or university. Education also means the act or process of teaching someone. Although both of these are important, if we did not have people that were more intelligent than one another, we would have no education. Being educated can mean many different things to a variety of different individuals. Does it mean possessing a PhD or some other proof of higher education? Or can you assume that someone who performs well at the local bar on “trivia night” is well-educated? In my experience, being well-educated is a combination of several different things. Most importantly, it is a commitment from an institution to be willing to educate others and a commitment from individuals to be open to education both from an institution and elsewhere. I feel like a well-educated person cannot be identified by simply the level of degree they hold or the amount of correct answers they give to a quiz. In the article “What Does It Mean to Be Well-Educated”, Alfie Kohn lists different criteria that can be used to identify a well-educated individual and some measures that should not be used.…

We all more than likely know someone who would fit the common catch phrase of being very well educated but having absolutely no common sense .Alfie Kohn’s article “What does it mean to be well educated?” elaborated on this topic wonderfully. Moreover, Kohn added, familiarity with lists of words, names, books and ideas is a poor way of judging whether one is well-educated. (Kohn, 2003, p. 3) I would definitely have to agree. A person who may fit today’s standard definition of well-educated may very well find themselves in the unemployment line if all of the book smart knowledge they have attained is not valuable in acquiring a means to support themselves. The concept of being well educated goes far beyond memorizing facts and recording college credit hours, without common sense knowledge these attributes would be of no value in the game of life.…

For instance, as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, I will be in charge of overseeing all the procedures and patients in the clinic. My employer will be looking for someone who can be a leader to the other employees: an individual with education who can be trusted to make good, informed decisions. Having an education also enables one to remain open to learning new procedures and techniques.…

What does it mean to be educated? First of all, the majority of people would have probably defined this as an individual who is intelligent, knowledgeable and has obtained a higher educational degree of some sort: Associate, Bachelor, Master or a Doctorate (P.H.D) degree. Colleges and universities prepare students for the real-world, but also provides the opportunity to access to a valuable, knowledgeable and more in-depth learning. In contrast to high school years, which seems to be more sugarcoated or irrelevant. Furthermore, a well-educated individual has the ability to entertain an idea of something that others disagree. Additionally, capable of making rational and reasonable explanations. The characteristics of a well-educated person…

Many claim to be educated people. But what does it mean to become an educated person? An educated person is not the one who has a high GPA or scored advanced on assessment tests. To be educated is to accept the idea that a person does not know anything until he or she opens the door to learning different aspects of life. School is not the only way of seeking knowledge; education derives from different activities like exploring other peoples’ ideas, thinking creatively, learning from one’s past mistakes, and learning skills that may help you survive and maybe succeed in life.…

To be educated means that a person is knowledgeable about different topics and subjects.
