- A phenomenon that becomes popular for a very short time.
- becomes popular, is adopted, peaks and declines quickly when you least expect it.
Why fads are crap?
1. They don't last forever.
2. They are costly and expensive - therefore, no sense of investment.
3. Once something new is introduced, the Fad dies. And you move on. Just like that.
4. You end up forgetting it ever existed.
But there's gotta be something beyond the box of crap in your basement containing Furby's, Pogs, Tech Decks, Creepy Crawler machines, Easy Bake Ovens, Tamagotchis, Skip-it's, Yo-yo's, and Pokemon cards, right?
After watching Toy Story 3 (TOTALLY WORTH THE TEN YEAR WAIT, BTW), seriously, was it just me, or did it make you FEEL for Woody and Buzz and those potato things and that green dinosaur and the rest (let's be real, i don't know all their names. haha) I never thought watching this would make me think back and ask, "did i treat my toys like crap?", "did they ever try and crawl their way back into my life?" and "are they going to sneak up at night and kill me in my bed?" …show more content…
a tearjerker, this movie.
But why do people treat other people any different? In all honesty, toys aren't gonna wake up and kill us in our sleep (not now, at least.) But how is it okay that we can be that ignorant and indifferent to other people? Think about it: were you on the receiving end or the giving end? Were you treating people like objects? Were you TREATED like something expendable? now think about how you felt bad for them toys in Toy Story 3. You'd think it would be an even worse feeling if people do it to other people, right? What's amazing is despite all that
neglect,
Woody kept trying over and over again to climb back into his owner's good graces. That's dedication, folks.
BE REAL: if you think you can just grow out your friends like you can with childhood toys....first off: screw you, second, let's hope one day your toys eventually climb and drag their half-bodies across your hardwood floor and peel off your flesh....hahaha. Morbid.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Don't treat people like like fads, one-hit wonders. Do Woody proud, and be there for the people you care about. 'Cause i'm telling you: one day, these Japanese companies are gonna come up with something that will eventually come and kill you the moment you neglect them. I thought Furby's were it....*cue scary music*
