The war ended with the allies of Britain, France and Russia, finishing the war having succeeded. There were many reasons to why the Allies had won this war. Some of the reasons were the effects of the long time the war went over war on the German Economy, the Alliance Systems formed by the other nations, The Allied Naval Blockade on Germany, leaving them with no supplies to maintain a certain control over the nation, the development of the tank towards the end of the war, and the help of the United States received by the Allies.
After Germany became united as one country in 1871, it started becoming one of the wealthiest and most powerful countries in the world. Its industries were mainly based on things like steel and coal which played big parts in the lead up to becoming a very rich nation and provide all of the necessary material for war. Since they became so strong, they wanted more colonies, more land and more money, desires which are disputably derived from a nationalist wave that had affected all of Europe but mostly Germany. They thought they deserved colonies like any other country since they were now a strong united one, with the feeling that they were able to take over all of Europe. So the Germans started the war on the upper hand because of their economy and industry. But as the war kept going, a lot of key factors that could have decided the outcome of the war started to go wrong for Germany.
First, since Germany had to fight on two fronts (the French and Russian one), Germany wanted to destroy France quickly (6 weeks) in order to then turn on Russia. This was known as the Shileffen Plan. Germany also underestimated Britain’s land power and thought they will be effective at sea but would play little part in a European war. However, Germany’s Schlieffen plan was a complete failure. It was very hard to break down the French resistance. France wanted vengeance on Germany because they had
