Analysis Of Donald Trump's Planned Parenthood
U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will face the wrath and disappointment of his voters if he pushes through with his plan to defund abortion giant Planned Parenthood, according to The Huffington Post.
In an article published on Dec. 21, HuffPost senior politics reporter Laura Bassett said some of Trump’s supporters would be “pissed off as hell” and frustrated if Planned Parenthood is defunded. The potential scenario, said Bassett, is based on the feedback from focus groups commissioned by the abortion giant.
An independent research group asked focus groups for reactions on Republicans’ plan to pass a bill which would remove $400 million in Medicaid funds for Planned Parenthood by January. Trump reportedly said he would sign that bill.

In the Republican Party, birth control is viewed as an unnecessary device with many possible repercussions that do not need to be present in everyday life. Contraception of any sort is something that can be abused or used in moderation. Before, women weren't recognized in Enlightenment literature unless they were to being spoken about in the regards of men or if their families .During the essay, Kerber explains the role of the Republican Motherhood and how it grew to become a image that many women gathered behind. Women, more specifically the mothers during the time had a political purpose in the early American Republic. Their main job as Kerber states was “raising sons and disciplining husbands to be virtuous citizens of the republic.” In the argument, Kerber uses John Locke, a philosopher, and his writing Two Treatises…

According to People, Planned Parenthood had received around 20,000 donations in the name of Mike Pence, the Vice President, since the election. The reason behind many people donating, and in the name of the Vice President, is many don’t agree with his beliefs, and women care about having rights. Women and others caring about their bodies is nothing new as well, in the cases of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey it widely speaks that state or spouses can intervene their decision. People, most conservatives, believe that Planned Parenthood’s agenda is just abortions which has called for controversy, but it is more than just abortions. Planned Parenthood should be government funded because it empowers women to be able to choose what they believe is right for them and helps people receive services at a low cost.…

From the time its conception, the United States has taken pride in existing as a country for the people. The actions of both federal and state governments should subsequently reflect the eclectic needs of an expanding and diverse populace. In order to provide the very basic necessities for its citizens, the government has a fundamental obligation to ensure access to quality and comprehensive healthcare services, including those focused on sexual and reproductive health. This is typically accomplished through delegation to smaller nonprofit organizations, most notably the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA). Though the beginning of a new presidency and reign of a majority-Republican Congress threatens to eradicate Planned Parenthood,…

Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit organization that conducts research and gives advice on contraception, family planning, and reproductive problems. As stated on the Planned Parenthood website, “There are over 650 centers throughout the United States” (Planned Parenthood). In recent months, the debate on whether the funds for the organization should be cut has been astronomical. Just like any other public issue, people support both sides of the debate. The defunding of Planned Parenthood should be blocked because it offers multiple medical services like contraception, cancer screenings, and STD testing.…

Thus, the war to defund Planned Parenthood becomes a war to end access to safe and legal abortions. Anyone who blindly believes that Planned Parenthood is all about abortions is apathetic, who has absolutely zero knowledge on the subject matter. Planned Parenthood is not all about abortions; in fact, according to its website, only three percent of its services are abortions. Out of the one million abortions conducted in the United States per year, Planned Parenthood roughly only performs 30 percent of them. Not to mention the common misbelief surrounding the idea that federal tax money goes towards performing these abortions, so by defunding the organization abortions would decrease. However, through the Hyde Amendment, federal money is not being and cannot be used to perform abortions with the exception of “rape, incest or when a woman’s life is in peril” (“5 Things to Know about the Planned Parenthood Fight in Congress”). Similarly, an incriminating piece of the Planned Parenthood debate includes the controversial videos from 2015, which accused Planned Parenthood of discussing the sale of fetal tissue. Since, Planned Parenthood has apologized for the videos, but states that it has, “broken no laws” since it does not sell fetal tissue, but rather donate and that it is, “among many organizations assisting fetal tissue…
