I think another petal or topic within third reference group evaluation should be the governmental structure of these countries. There are many connections between the intrinsic politics of a country, refugee politics, and the rise of populist movements within these countries. Comparing this reading to other very similar readings, I have found that the interviews and the personal research has been used by many researchers to attempt to show that these constructed ideas of refugees are not always true. Many similar arguments have been made by many of the other pieces that I have read, these articles or studies go into details about the push and pull factors for many refugees such as job security, security in general from the potential future or imminent threat of harm, and education. What is the next step though? How do we as social scientist begin to change people's minds? It is clear that many of these studies have found very similar points. How can we get this information out there so that we are able to start changing people's minds outside of working with policy makers? Another article that I researched through this semester that I think would be beneficial to discuss within the literature review is the experience that denied asylum seekers experience, much of my work in Oxford, England was with those who had been denied asylum and were currently working to re-apply or to submit an appeal.
