Strength is one of the best ways to handle conflict. Conflict is disagreement between people and can lead to more such as a war. There are different types of conflict, such as disagreement, emotionally, or man vs a subject. Conflict is and can be handled in a variety of ways. Many people all have their own ways of handling it. All because of conflict 60 million people died in World War II. Anne Frank, Shmuel (from The Boy In The Striped Pajamas), and Malala Yousafzai all used strength to handle conflict.
One example of a person showing strength is Malala Yousafzai. Malala showed showed strength when she kept fighting for women’s rights even when she was being threatened and people were trying to assassinate her. Another way Malala showed strength was she handled any situation or obstacle in her way just so she made sure women were treated equally and as the same as men. Malala showed strength while handling conflict in many ways and because she did that she achieved what she wanted and she is where she is now because she had the strength. …show more content…
Another person who showed strength was Anne Frank (diary).
When Anne had to go into hiding, she showed strength by making the best out of the small room she was hiding in and she did what she could to make things feel normal. Anne was also strong for her family, if Anne wouldn’t have had cooperated like she did their family probably wouldn’t have lived as long as they did. In the reading it states “..One more week and our torment will be over.” This means that Anne was being strong by being patient and not just giving their hiding place out for the German people to go find them and take them to concentration camps. In Anne’s diary, she did face conflict and she used her strength to help resolve
them.
The last person I am bringing up about showing strength is Shmuel from “The Boy In The Striped Pajamas.” Shmuel showed strength when he was in the concentration camp by simply following orders and doing what he needed to do. Shmuel didn’t give up and just let the Nazis kill him, he had the strength to be able to not give in and get what he needed done. In this passage Shmuel showed Bruno his hands that were in horrible condition and said “Everyone’s hands on my side of the fence looks like this now.” Shmuel was being strong and he knew he wasn’t alone and that’s probably why he handled the conflict with strength. Shmuel had strength and that’s maybe one of the best ways to handle conflict.
But on the other hand all of these people were going to end up passing away or things may not have gone as they intended, so it doesn’t really matter what emotion they used that helped them while dealing with conflict.
In conclusion people such as Anne Frank, Malala Yousafzai, and Shmuel all used strength to help them get past whatever conflict they were going through. They showed strength to not only themselves, but they also did it for others. If they wouldn’t have shown strength towards that conflict, they probably wouldn’t have done much, been wise, or changed the world like they did. Aside from all of the other character traits I’d say strength was the best character trait they could have had. Strength is one of the best ways to handle conflict.
