Analysis Of Wizof
In this video presentation, a team of entrepreneurs from Wizof.Biz, a Toronto-based internet company, came out to ask the Dragons, a group of multi-millionaire investors, for a $50.000 investment in a TV show. The purpose of their pitch was to introduce their company and persuade the audience (the Dragons) to invest in their company. However, the entrepreneurs of Wizof.Biz were unsuccessful in convincing the audience due to their lack of ethos, poor deliverance of messages, and failure to reference their claim to credible sources. According to Sharples, there is a set of principles to follow as a writer (presenter) in which he states that a presenter should, “(1) not present unwarranted belief as fact, (2) provide justification for assertions,
(3) reference the sources of ideas, (4) not selectively ignore facts, and (5) acknowledge the limitations of an argument” (Sharples, 1999, p 165). This paper will analyze the presentation of Wizof.Biz entrepreneurs based on Sharples's design principles.
