Analysis Of Yo Garbage Stinks
Yo’ Garbage Stinks
I was assigned to find an ecology project to do for 5 hours total. I chose to go pick up trash using 8 trash bags. I chose to go to a property owned by my grandfather because he had enough trash and a enough land. I first needed to get approval from him if I can work there, next I decided what days I will go, and then I needed to get the supplies. On the first day of our project, my grandfather picked me up and took me to his property only to show me what needed to be done there. The next day, I started working on the old wood and debris that was on the property. All the trash I found, I put in a trailer. I continued to pick up trash for an hour and a half a day for three more scheduled days.
Doing this project immensely affected the environment in abounding ways. Picking up trash cleans the environment and the living things in

One of them was that my grandfather decided to take a short unforeseen vacation to Nebraska the same days I needed to work on his property. We had to reschedule our days and pick some days that were harder to find. Another problem was that the marching band practice schedule moved the next week. It was absolutely hard to find a day or two that week to work after my grandfather got back. We also had a problem with the trash bags. Well, it was the trash we put in it. The trash broke through the bags and left holes in them.
The safety issues I considered during my project were being careful next to the debris because of the spiders and alarming creatures that can live under it. Another safety issue was the sharp plants around the area. Here in the desert, there are many of cactus’ and spiky plants. I wore gloves to protect me from that. The sun was another safety issue because being outside for about an hour and a half plus marching band practice every day for three and a half hours, can really hurt my skin. I also brought a water bottle so I don’t get dehydrated in the scorching sun

First thing in all construction is a hard hat, steel toed boots, eye protection and cell phone with 911 on speed dial. You should also dress appropriately, Long pants (jeans are tough enough for construction), clean T-shirt, socks and have gloves handy. When using ladders make sure you know the regulations on how to set it up. A straight ladder of 20’ should be 5’ away from the structure at the bottom for safety. Vik Muniz, is a New York based artist who creates pictures from unlikely materials. The materials that Vik Muniz uses are everyday objects that are found in a landfill. Most of the materials that he uses are recyclable materials that include, cardboard, paper, plastics, glass, and metals. Vik Muniz used catadores that he employed to pick out recyclable material from garbage and then he creates large-scale mosaic portraits. Vik Muniz and El Anatsui both have the same ideas that resemble my proposal. I believe that we all feel that trash is doing harm to our land and environment. We want to change the lives of many individuals by bringing forth our artwork and make people stop and think; we want them to see that recyclable materials can be turned…

A number of factors must be considered when planning environments that are healthy and safe. Outdoor areas for children and young people need to be planned to allow vigorous play with minimum risk. When having an outdoor area in any setting it is important to supply the children with full waterproof clothing. This ensures the children stay warm and dry whatever the weather. This also helps keep them dry when playing with water and messy mud and sand. When planning an activity it is always vital to make sure the activity is set in the right environment; for example when using bikes, trikes and scooters. These should be ridden outside when there is not enough space to use the equipment indoors, which could be dangerous to yourself and other children.…

From the perspective of space you can barely tell the effect humans have made on the earth. As you get closer, however, you can see the trash and impact we have truly caused. “Trashed” was influential to me because it opened my eyes to a different perspective. It showed me real world people in real world situations. I’ve ignored the facts and was ignorant to not think of the fact the world is deteriorating around me. I never really thought of where all our trash goes not only as a community but as a entire world. I have thought of how we affect the world around us but not in this aspect. I did not understand it was this bad and to this level. It honestly scares me. This is an award-winning documentary movie. It was directed…

Similarly, littering also has a positive effect on the soil. According to Bill Nye the Science Guy, “it’s good to litter so the trash can decompose and turn into good, rich soil.” The plants then suck in the good nutrients it gets from our garbage, and helps the plants grow. Then, the plants are harvested and put on our plates for dinner. Just another fascinating way human’s littering ends up in our daily lives.…

The project I chose to demonstrate my leadership on was to go around the Frostburg community picking up recycling and then dumping it in a local landfill. I first chose this project to work on because I thought, how could I help Frostburg and give back to the community? By recycling products and going green, these products can eventually be reprocessed and re-used without having it go to waste. I mainly decided to collect recycling to maintain and keep Frostburg clean and liter free. It establishes a healthy environment for locals, students and staff around the area. Going green and keeping the community environmentally friendly is highly stressed around the world today. Any kind of helpful service regarding recycling is beneficial to the environment and that’s what I planned to do. It is important for me to serve Frostburg by recycling because it isn’t the first time for me. Throughout my early years I have gone around collecting trash and recyclable goods through certain groups such as church camps and other clubs. I learned a lot about why it is important to recycle and ways to do it.…

Environmental volunteering locally has many more benefits than national volunteering because it can have more lasting visual effects on the community, as well as create new friendships with people with common interests. Local volunteering can also have benefits to your health and wellbeing. These reasons show that doing small things for a community will make a big difference on the environment, and people. So when you see trash on the ground, pick it up and throw it away. Also, when you see a group cleaning up the environment, remember that they are making the world a better place one small step at a…
