One way Wade is controlled is when he is in the laundry room on his laptop and his aunt walks in and catches him on his and demands that he gives it to her. Wade is always giving his things up to her because she has a big boyfriend who raises a fist. Wade is under her control by listening and doing everything she says. Another way tha Wade is controlled is by his game OASIS. The game OASIS is a game that acts as a real, and perfect world that people can escape too. Wade is always wanting to get on the game which is controlling him and taking up all of his time. In the very beginning it explains “You were born at a pretty crappy time in history, and it looks like things are only gonna get worse from here on out.”(chpt. 1) The economy and all the resources are getting worse. Many people are living in small trailer houses stacked on one another. The schools are like prisons and many people are unemployed and just hoped for the best. The world is so bad, everyone is living in a virtual world, OASIS. “Everything is the OASIS was beautifully rendered in three dimensions.”(chpt.2) Wade explains that you forget you’re in the virtual world because it feels so real and clear, but even is the OASIS at school it was still a bad place. Many people were bullied during school online. The only good thing is that you could mute them which stopped them because you couldn’t hear what they were saying.
During the book Ready Player One there is a virtual world, which is the OASIS. The OASIS is a surveillanced world. Many people look to get away from the real world because it “sucks” (chp 3 ) and go to the virtual because it is more “perfect”. When all the players are in the virtual world, they are always being watched by someone. It could be anybody, and you may never know
