One of the explanations for World War I was when colonies became greedy and wanted to have more land. According to Colin Nicolson who created the document “The First World War, Europe 1914 - 1918”, he demonstrated a chart on the population size of Colonial Empires. This document displays a tension between World War I by listing the colonies that are participating in the war to compete for more land. Also, by providing this information it is giving the readers an idea on how things are going to occur during World War I.
